Yeah, in my first full day with my Wii, I fell into a Zelda trance. (I don't see why they don't continue bundling Wii Sports with the console. Once upon a time, *all* new consoles came with one game. When did that change?) David V .

I'm a little confused by the ire expressed by the original writer. I've seen plenty of VC games rated very highly here. All the Mario titles are 7 or better, and a couple are pushing 9. They've also rated several TurboGrafx16 games very highly. What I *do* have a problem with is that in the review index, the VC titles are not marked as such. Right now they outnumber standard Wii titles 2 to 1. That's annoying to sift through. I'd like it if they put (VC) after the title in the index.

I think it was the developers of Rogue Squadron saying they wouldn't make anymore for Nintendo because the thought the wii was gimicky and couldn't handle graphics. The source that lent this info then replied "Why would Nintendo want games from a publisher only interested in graphics?". A few publishers are detered mostly because of the graphics situation. But may I give a holler to Konami, whos in love with the wii, they've made Elebits and now upcoming Dewey's Adventure (working title) they're focusing on the wii's controls. Unlike some developers...-shmelo-
Yeah, I see what your saying. But I don't think 2K has that excuse, since they are releasing titles for PS2, XBox original, and Nintendo DS and GBA, and I can't see them thinking that the Wii has worse graphics than those systems. And somewhere along the line, this "crappy graphics" thing has to give out....what they're really saying is that the Wii doesn't do high-definition. Heck, how many of you *have* a high-definition TV? I don't, so the supposedly superior graphics wouldn't benefit me at all. Sorry, I'm a hardcore baseball game still reeling from the horrible, horrible trend of exclusive licensing.... 2K is my sworn enemy because they got exclusive rights to MLB but don't publish for the PC, killing EA MVP Baseball and giving me no alternatives. I was hoping I could play their MLB 2K7 on the Wii, but it appears I will continue to be denied. :( David V .

I don't think there is a total lack of good games.  Perhaps what you mean is there is a lack of good games that appeal to your tastes.  As I have blathered about numerous time on here by now this morning :D I finally got mine today, and bought my first 6 games based on GameSpot reviews.  For the kids I got Super Monkey Ball: Banana Blitz, Elebits, and Rayman Raving Rabbids; and for myself Madden '07 and The Legend of Zelda: Twilight Princess.  And of course we all get to play Wii Sports. And I have to say there isn't a dud in the bunch.

I think the only think I'm finding frustrating at the moment is that a bunch of game publishers apparently bet against the Wii and are now totally caught unprepared for its success.  (See my other thread.)  It seems quite a few folks bet heavily on the PS3 and are now paying the price.

Paper Mario is just......weird. I played it a bit on the GameCube but it was just too creepy for me. I am eagerly awaiting Super Mario Galaxy. As soon as I get my wireless issues worked out, I'm getting Super Mario 64 on the VC. What I *really* wanted was MLB 2K7, but apparently it's on every console *but* the Wii. I'm hoping for Diddy Kong Racing on the VC. David V

I got to Target at 7:45 AM this morning, and found they had already handed out line tickets. But I got lucky, got #18 out of 20 in stock. Finally!!! But they were effectively sold out before the doors even opened this morning.

Time to vent your frustrations, dear game players.  What game publishers most aggregiously bet against the Wii, and lost?

My pick: 2K Games.  Heck, they are releasing MLB 2K7 on the DS and Game Boy Advance, for Chrissake, as well as every console on the planet *but* the Wii.  Their only announced title, that dorky screwed up baseball game The Bigs, isn't due until Q4.  Clearly, 2K was expecting the Wii to flop.

Who else got caught with their pants down, in your opinion?  :D

I agree that the Wii seems a bit 'dry' right now. I think the problem is just the layover from the GC. I know that Nintendo pushed to get the Wii out before the holidays, but I think it was a little rushed.

Consider that Super Paper Mario, Twilight Princess, and probably more platforms were set to release on the GC. Now, all of the controls have to be redesigned for a new console. This produces two problems 1) the game isn't designed specifically for the Wii and 2) the release date is pushed back. Sounds strange, but I wished Nintendo would have 'stuck' to the release date of the GC version of Super Paper Mario and just released it on the GC so I could at least play it on the Wii.

Once Super Mario Galaxy, SSBB, Super Paper Mario and other popular platforms are available, the Wii will gain back its popularity.

I don't think it's popularity that is the problem.  I finally got my Wii this morning after two months of stalking.

I think it's because a ton of game developers bet against the Wii and lost.  Did you see that 2K brought out MLB 2K7 for every platform *but* the Wii?  Even the DS and GBA got it, but not the Wii.

I *finally* got a Wii today.  It was in Target's ad flyer this week, so I trekked over at 7:45 AM to wait for it to open.

They had already passed out line tickets!!!

Fortunately, they had 20 in stock and I got #18.  I have to say, this is ludicrous.  I'm amazed that it's still this difficult to get one, over 2 months after Christmas.

I took the opportunity to buy Super Monkey Ball Banana Blitz, Elebits, and Rayman Raving Rabbids for the kids (my son is 7 and my daughter is 3) and I got Madden '07 and The Legend of Zelda: Twilight Princess for myself.  I already had extra controllers from Christmas.

Now I just need to get this bad baby on line and get some Virtual Console games.  I already know I'm getting Super Mario 64.  I've been hoping and praying that they port Diddy Kong Racing over to the Virtual Console.
