Well, I thought it was pretty self-evident, myself.

Parents have a different perspective on life, compared to non-parents. Gamer parents are more likely to view the gaming of their kids positively than parents who don't play.

Is that the WiiWare bit that came out this week?

How do you like it?

If this does not apply to you, then please don't flame me. Just move on to the next article. :-)

I need to step gingerly because I don't want to run afoul of GameSpot's TOS. But I'm looking to make contact with folks who are gamer parents (i.e. you're a gamer and you're a parent) and especially if your kids are also gamers. Or maybe your kid is a gamer and you're beginning to take an interest in their avocation.

Or maybe you're a kid and you think your parents might be interested in your avocation, and you're not totally squicked out by this idea. :-)

My idea is to share ideas, opinions, resources, and such from our unique perspective as gamer parents. If you want to contact me by e-mail, you can go to the Spellbound web site http://spellbound.purplenote.com and click the Contact Us link on the left and use the feedback form there. Be sure to put "Wii Gamer Family" in as the subject so I won't get it confused with the e-mail for my Internet radio program.

Thanks for you time!

title threw me off at first, anyways I agree 100% percent about the rare games. Espicially perfect dark and goldeneye, but I think conker is a microsoft property nowzero030

Well, I think Rare is a Microsoft property now.

My understanding is, don't expect to see any Rare reissues of any sort other than for the DS, which for some reason was exempt from the contract crap.

Hello all,

Thank you for the invitation to this union.  I don't live on GameSpot, so I don't know how active I'll be, but I write indepth reviews of the games I have, for the Wii and for the PC, and I'll post pointers to those if anyone is interested in them.  I probably don't write reviews frequently enough to be on the Review Team, but you are welcome to reproduce my reviews as you see fit.

My latest review is of the Nintendo Wii itself, a month after purchase, posted under the Wii Channels page.

I would agree with your friends. The Nunchuk doesn't send out IR signals so there's nothing for the sensor bar to read from it. I think whatever control is coming from the Nunchuk is more of a simple "tilt" switch, which wouldn't be as precise. The Remote, on the other hand, has both and is quite precise (to the point of being touchy in some cases). Definitely the Remote was meant for the heavy lifting on the Wii, metaphorically speaking. A few things led me to the Wii: 1. I'm fascinated with the motion sensing controls. I have six games, and it works well on all of them. 2. I am biased against the Blu-Ray and HD-DVD formats. They're being sold to us as "high definition", but the real push for them is to restore copy protections. The idiotic lengths Microsoft went to build anti-piracy into Vista is making everyone pay more for computers. So I chose not to give my money to a company that would do that. So no XBox 360. Nor will I give my money to a company that hacked people's computers intentionally in the name of anti-piracy (Sony). So no PS3. 3. The quality control issues with the PS3 with regard to the Blu-Ray drive keeps me from reconsidering them in the future. 4. Nintendo has never lost a dime on its game consoles. That's because they're a game company first and exclusively. They're not also trying to sell PC operating systems and software, nor are they a multinational conglomerate owning record labels, movie studios, or televisions. Their focus is on the gamer. They may not get it right all the time, but their heart is in the right place. 5. You can't beat the price. $250 is a relative bargain when you compare it with the prices for the XBox 260 and the PS3. I admit, some of these reasons are because I despise and distrust Microsoft and Sony. My attitude toward them have nothing to do with their game consoles (well, maybe a little with Sony). Nintendo is just a much more likable company, so I don't deny that has a big influence on my choices. Even in gaming, politics matter. David V .

There are some real sports games, almost all from EA Sports. Madden NFL '07 was a launch title, and GameSpot gave it nearly as good a score as Zelda. I don't know why NCAA '08 Football wouldn't be coming, since Madden NFL '07 has been great. Tiger Woods Golf is out next week. EA has said (in their Madden '07 interview) that NHL Hockey is in development. 2K Games bet against the Wii and lost, so no MLB 2K7, they're busy selling it to the 18 people who bought PS3's (in fact, MLB 2K7 is on every console *except* the Wii -- including the DS and Game Boy Advance). But perhaps we'll be fortunate and EA will bring NCAA College Baseball to the Wii. Or sports authorities will stop giving out exclusive licenses and we'll have competition again. Baseball and football games are definitely worse because of it. Publishers have gotten fat and lazy knowing they don't have to compete and make better games. David V .

Madden NFL '07. Is it me, or is this game seriously underrated? David V .
