@Maroxad: But if he or I or anyone played this game for a long time (100+ hours) and we didn't do a ton with the mechanics, why is that supposed to suddenly change the feeling of this game from "been there done that" to "wow this is truly super different"?

Like how many penis monster vehicles do I need to make before I suddenly feel like this is not exactly like BotW with added stuff?

@Maroxad: What you posted is a montage. Nobody tries to be as flashy when playing on their own, at "high level" or not. What everyone will do is use whatever is the safest and quickest way to kill this boss. And i did see dansgaming on twitch kill this thing. It was easy and simple without the need of even thinking of doing something flashy.🤷‍♂️Its like pretending like all the ER tech that is usefull in pvp, should be used on pve mobs. Pointless.

And btw i have played the game, its called botw. Glue wasn't yet patched in, but i did play the game🙃

Even if people do all the cool new mechanics and make giant penis monsters that blow up into enemies and big moblins and whatnot, is that supposed to just skyrocket the opinion from "feels like BotW 1.5" to all of a sudden "HOLY SHIT! BEST ZELDA EVER!!! THIS COMPLETELY CHANGES EVERYTHING"?

No, it doesn't. It is very neat that Nintendo incorporated this into a new Zelda. I love watching people's youtube creations. Hilarious shit. But I would like to have a new map and fresh new experience that doesn't feel like a Ubisoft clone when it comes to a new Zelda, please. You know, like the older more traditional Zeldas in the past were?

@Maroxad: Wow. I don't know what to tell you. We are just at an impasse here, my dude. Elden Ring has become my favorite game because I just truly enjoy FromSoft's souls games so much. I do understand and agree with the recycling in that one so it does kinda stink there but outside of that, Elden Ring was a breath of fresh air, even more so than BotW for me.

But this? Tear of the Kingdom truly does feel like BotW 1.5. Sure maybe he didn't fully explore the mechanics and perhaps I didn't either (even though I did all 152 shrines and uncovered the whole map everywhere). But I don't think that is completely necessary when you put in over 100 hours and do much of what the game has to offer.

My one consolation to myself is after gift cards, I only paid $10 for this game. So in a sense, it truly was just dlc for me, rather than $70 or the $130 collector version my brother-in-law got. And he still hasn't put more than 30 hours into it.

@Maroxad: I wish I didn't agree with him, but I watched the whole video and my experience was very much in line with his as well. If you watch the whole thing, he does say that it is a good game, but it is not a 10/10 masterpiece like everyone on the net is saying. It reuses the same map (while adding the sky islands and depths), same moblin forts with a few added new enemies, same shrine formula, same uncovering the map with the towers formula, same 4 temples with sages while adding another one and then the final fight formula, and even the same music from BotW...So much of this got me so disappointed while I was playing. I didn't care that there were these new islands in the sky or down below a wasteland of dark to explore. The formula is exactly the same as BotW.

Breath of the Wild is not a bad game. It was refreshing for a Zelda game and I enjoyed it. This is just like that with added things. There is no refreshing, new experience here for me outside of messing with the ultrahand mechanic. Tears of the Kingdom is fine, just like the youtuber says. But this is not a masterpiece for me as well. I put in 125 hours and I'm just kinda deflated. Some of it was fun, but the "been there done that" feeling just kept coming back over and over with this new one. I can't understand all the dickriding, personally. But whatever, I guess I'm in the minority.

@uninspiredcup: Yeah I was a stupid eager fucking idiot with SFV and I regret it. The only time I ever participated in an in-game store and I am ashamed of it because it wasn't even worth it all. Sure some of the stages you bought were neato but in the end, I stuck with Chun-Li and just played a bunch of arcade mode when it finally came. I beat some ppl online but I was and am hot garbage at this and any fighter.

I'll wait for the Super SFVI Alpha Omega Extreme Plus Turbo edition... and when that's on sale.

^ The upgrades for 5 were free for OG owners

Eventually. You had to do a lot of waiting though. I learned that the hard way as I had bought several of the characters/stages through the years. One of my biggest gaming sins was how much I spent overall on SFV....Ugh. Buyer's remorse.

Wish I was better at fighters. I tried about 70 hours of SFV but I just could not get good at enough of those combos to really enjoy the game myself. Oh well, not for me. I'll just stick to Smash Bros.

Finally beat it after 115 hours. I still have many side quests to do but I did all 152 shrines and I am truly done with these things, as fun as they were.

My initial thoughts were correct throughout this game. I enjoyed it and it is a fun game, but it was just too familiar to me at the end of the day. I previously played Breath of the Wild twice through and put 135 hours into that one doing all the shrines and whatnot so perhaps that was my fault? I did the same with Tears. My issue is how samey this game feels to BotW. A lot of the time it kept feeling like "been there done that" all over the same map from 2017.

I appreciate how Nintendo added the Sky islands and the Depths. They have been fun to explore and I still have much to explore in the depths. The added mechanics were neato to use as well, making cars and flying things. However, it is the same formula as BotW. Unlock the towers to uncover this big map like BotW. Many shrines to do with puzzles and fights and sometimes just opening a chest and collecting your light blessings to exchange for the heart or stamina bar like BotW. Moblin forts scattered all over like BotW, though thankfully Nintendo did add some new enemies to fight in TotK. I was really disappointed when so much of the music had been recycled from BotW, in the same areas as that game as well. I'm a huge video game soundtrack fan and Zelda puts out top-notch melodies but when so much of TotK is just the same reused tracks from BotW, that was a huge bummer for me. Some of the story also felt samey while it is obviously different. You are going throughout this land again to acquire those memories to piece together what happened and how to get your Master Sword back, again.

The ending fight was really fun! Loved that final final fight even though it was easy. I thought it was very climactic and mystical. I just wish this was it for this formula of Zelda games, personally. While they are enjoyable and not bad games, to keep doing this same formula even in a different world would honestly kill it for me I think. Too much of the same is not what I expected Nintendo to do for a new entry in one of their iconic series. But these games do sell like hot cakes so I guess I'm in the minority. At least I had my fun.

RE4 remake has become one of my top 10 favorite games ever with how jam-packed it is with exciting situations both enhanced from the original and new stuff. That being said, Leon moves like a fatboy compared to the older version and Ada's voice sounds bored and old. Oh well, still a very excellent remake.

You're right, Pedro. That is probably the best trailer for a video game ever. Honesty is 110% appreciated, even if they are kidding.
