The developer was just trying to justify their incredible stupid idea of a DRM. When they said that their server are doing 'most' of the calculations so that user PC's wont have to was a BIG hint that they were just trying to lie their way out of this mess. Besides the social functions of the game there is absolutly NO reason why this game should not be playable offline. Again and again we are getting sold for dumb. People should start thinking about wether they want to waste money on a game they wont be able to play once they decide to take down the servers. I did not buy this game simply cause i am a casual gamer, and play in between trips, when most of the time i am not able to connect to the net or just have a very limited WiFi conection. Dont buy DRM games, dont PRE-ORDER games either!

@ MoreDreadGS Gotta tell you, i do understand you all but too well! Unfortunatly we do live in an unperfect world, with unperfect solutions. I imagine you are a working person, meaning you get paid for the work you do for your company. But just think, that you sit all weekend long doing an investigative report on a matter that might get you a raise or is worth a lot of money, and somehow someone is able to sneek into your system and steal the final version of that report and uses your hard work to steal that raise from you! Thats piracy and not much diferent from downloading illegal copies of games, music, movies, ebooks and other. Unfortunatly most of those Games are beeing "consumed" while playing, or better said most of them are just not good enough to play through twice and paying 40 to 50 bucks for it, it better be good! Piracy will never be completly eliminated by DRM or copyright protection systems, and not without really angering the consumer, but it can mostly eliminate the second hand market for games, rent and resale, which i understand DRM should be all about. This is were the companies REALLY loose money!!! On people willing to pay for a game, just not full retail price. In my opinion, a realy good game makes advertisement by itself!!! And Developers and Publishers alike will have to change their business model very soon to adjust to the changes the game industry demands. AND THIS IS A GOOD THING!

@ haohmaru11: Im sorry to say that you are wrong on numerous things. Everybody wants to get paid, sure we know that. How much they get paid depends completly on what product they deliver! I do not object to pay my 40 - 50 dollars for a game, it just has to be worth while. On the other hand, i think that the publisher is the real culprit of this whole DRM situation, but that doesnt mean that they ALWAYS are making the big bucks on a game title. THAT completly depends on the contract a developer has with a publisher. On the other i can not support you call for piracy!!! You pay to see a movie, you pay to listen to you favorite mp3, but you tell us to pirate games?! I think developers should get away from publishers, and publish their games over the best medium yet, the INTERNET!!! That, and they should provide better ways of playable demos for their games, so everyone can TEST it without having to buy it, and decide if its worth the money. It should be that easy. Now condoning piracy to get back at a publisher is just wrong and totally out of line!

Developers and Publishers alike should stop making games for "everyone" and start making games for legit gamers at reasonables prices. By that i mean the importance of how they distribute their games. Just think, if a game requieres an Online authentication or being online at all time, why would you distribute this game on optical mediums. Steam is the way to go on this matter, which at the same time makes it totally unnecessary to "only allow 3 concurrent installs of a game" since you only will be allowed to single sign in onto your account from anywhere in the world, any PC. Yet in my opinion, the BEST Copy Protection a game can have is its content itself. Put some quality into the games, with a fun and long lasting multiplayer, and it will be bought by most gamers. The games i own, all reflect superb quality and support; BF2, HL2, Diablo 1&2, CoD4

Thing is love and hate bout Vista: The bad: 1) It sucks the living hell out of my system resources 2) UAC is annoying as hell 3) Re-aranged most of the front end setup tools like Network config, Desktop config, etc. 4) APPLY TO ALL FOLDERS does not really apply to "all" Folders, WTH?! 5) Media Player v.10+ all suck IMO. That thing just gets messier with every new release. 6) "Real" Administrator account has to be activated and worked arround. 7) Some programs and drivers are not backwards compatible. 8) Power Saving mode make my HDDs spin up and down all the time -> disabled for that reason! The good: 1) Stability!!! My system runs 24/7 sometimes for up to 10 days in a row. 2) DirectX 10 3) Favorite Links, directly imbedded into Win Explorer. 4) Sidebar 5) Better Multicore support Overall, Vista is a good OS. Sure, it has its drawbacks, but look at it this way. MS fidled arround with Win 98, Me and 2000 before they finally got XP out right! Here is hoping that MS finally fine tunes the stuff that annoys us most.
