At least we've got videogames to keep us entertained during the pandemic. If you're looking to find more destinations to visit, an Minecraft player has recreated the Hawaiian Islands in a "fully playable" map that includes the entire chain of islands available to explore. This map is accurate since it uses NASA satellite data.
As the creator Frank Cesco explains, this is a map that has a 1:145 scale therefore a single meter is now 45 meters of real-world ground. The Y-axis scale is actually slightly exaggerated at 1:22 to help create a more diverse map to navigate. Plussoc The total map size is 16,663 by 10,567 blocks and there's plenty of space to explore.
You can find instructions on how to download the map yourself over in the description of the creator's YouTube video. If Frank Cesco's name is familiar, it's likely due to the comprehensive map of Europe he published last year, on the scale of 1:230.
