5 Reasons to Scrap GameSpot Unions

From the "Zelda and Off-Topic Union," to the "Soul Caliber and Off-Topic Union," to all of the other well-thought-out unions that thirteen-year-old kids come up with as soon as they reach level six; users of this site have been plagued with these spam factories for over a decade. Here is just some food for thought:

  • There is no such thing as a free lunch. Every waste of space needs to be paid for, and these funds come from those lovely ads that we see every time we load the homepage, and these funds could be better used by hiring another staff member, adding more features, or even cutting down on those blessed advertisements.
  • The majority of unions peter out within a month and become completely stagnant.
  • Noone likes the disapointment of opening the old gamespot inbox to read one's messages only to find if full of union invites and send-all union messages.
  • Gamespot has no desire to fix the issues with unions. Remember SentinelRV's movement to fix the union system half a decade ago? Did Gamespot even pretend to take action, even if to appease Sentinel and keep his invaluable HeadCrab Union on the site? If the staff is so apathetic to allow their largest and most active union to slip between their fingers, why even support the things?
  • Every post dumped into a terminally ill union forum is a post that could have contributed to it's respective Game Forum, where people really go to get information for games. If you have a question about Skyward Sword, are you going to visit the "Zelda Alliance and Off-Topic Union," or the Skyward Sword forum?

Does anyone want a Canv.as or Google+ Invite?

I'm sure you've heard of google+; it's like facebook without the spam and dramaqueens (enjoy it while it lasts :p). Canv.as is an invitation only imageboard founded by Christopher Poole (moot), and bursts forth with winrar and lulz. If anyone wants an invite to either of those, post your email address and I'll be happy to oblige you ;).

Wal*Mart's customer service making me rage

So on the 12th of this month, I ordered a 32 inch TV from Walmart using their free "Site-to-Store" shipping. It was supposed to take 7-10 business days. I then looked at the tracking and found out that it was "delayed in transit" and won't arrive until the 27th. Made me rage. But on the bright side, tomorrow is FRIED EGG :D 8) !!!!!111

Never use Wal*Mart's Site to Store Shipping

You're kidding... (five-sentence rant about my PC)

I Bought CoD: Black Ops for PC. Computer has 4GB ram, i5-450M processor, and I don't run very many background programs, so I'd think I wouldn't have to worry about lagging in campaign mode, right? Apparently I was wrong ;). The game lags something terrible for me. The mouse controls are unresponsive for a fraction of a second. Even in the menu, I'll drag the mouse from one corner of the screen to the other, but the pointer won't follow for a fraction of a second, lol.

What is your opinion/plan of action regarding the price range of the 3DS???

It's been announced that the 3DS will be priced upwards of $200 but less than $300 (even though the Wii is only $210). Do you think that over two-hundred bucks for a handheld is too much? Or will you just wait two years until another version of the handheld comes out? I'm curious about what y'all are going to do :). You can read a bit about the subject here. That can fill you in better than I can.

Why hasn't Pokemon Snap been remade?

I realize that many good old game that get remade are ruined in the remake, but Pokemon Snap seems like a game that would be hard to ruin. The concept is simpe: ride a cart and take pictures of Pokemon, and throw the occasional apple at them. I can't think of any way to screw that up. And it would be so fun if they incorporated some of the new gereration Pokemon! What do you guys think?

Selling my games off on eBay., along with some dry humor.

I have a shelf full of Gamecube and Wii games that I haven't touched in months to a year. And being a college student, I always have a constant need for more money, so I'm selling them on eBay. It's a little sad, but I've been suprised about how much money I've gotten off of games that I thought were garbage. For example, I currently have a bid for $19 plus $4 shipping on Super Mario Sunshine. And I despise Super Mario Sunshine. So that's been a pleasant suprise.

On the other hand, I listed Resident Evil 4 with a starting bid of only .99, and I only have one bid, lol. I really don't want to sell the game for only a buck, so if anyone out there wants the best survival horror game of all time for only a little over a buck, you should come and bid on it here. Or click here. Or even here if you'd like. Or, if you have a sick sense of humor such as myself, you can click on this lovely emoticon of a buttcrack (_|_). Or even this lovely emoticon c=3. Whichever you'd prefer. Have a lovely day everyone :)!
