@sleepnsurf: there are quite a few that I am personally looking forward too at least. Persona 5 being at the top, but there are others ff xv, re 7, tekken 7, injustice 2, and horizon are some that are coming out soonish, Everyone is just kinda pesamistic, there are good games if you look for them, there are probably even a few that you missed

those are rehashed games...tho

Games don't have the same polish or love put into them anymore. The middle man is all but entirely gone, and the industry is all about money. Not that making money wasn't a goal before, but the industry has set nearly unreachable profit margins as being "successful". Releasing half finished games and only fixing them if they turn enough profit is the norm these days, and that's sickening to me. It's easier for a new generation of gamers or those just coming into their "gaming primes" to look at the games of today as the best of all time. The problem is... they didn't play the games that many of us compare them to, and even if they have, it was years after the games releases and not when they first hit the market. The graphics may not be as good, but that has nothing to do with quality, story, playability, or the fun factor. All too many times in the recent history of games has it felt as though devs put so much effort into making their games shine that they are nearly devoid of any fun, and often time the frame rates suffer the most... which goes hand in hand with playability. This isn't always the case, but it is much more common now then games in years from the past.

I may be set in my ways, but I know a good game when I play one. I vote to stop dumbing things down and add layers of difficulty and things you actually have to practice and maybe even use trial and error to understand or get accustomed to. The old saying "more is less" doesn't apply to video games... at least not with me. Unless of course it's SUPPOSED to be a simple game with few controls or thought processes.

There are some good games out there, but I miss the challenges games used to provide. Very few games out there scratch that itch these days... even on the hardest difficulty level in which I play almost every campaign.

i love this message right here i just wanted to ask this question because i just feel like the games aren't good anymore them seem so short or just seem like u have nothing else to do after u beat the whole game or its no sense of accomplishment i think the only thing that saving these games are really online play lets minus the sport games and the army games its like i be looking for them games that can make me want to play it more

I love charizard i think he is one of the coolest characters especially as a kid it looked so cool it was something different to me as a kid the fact you can have a fire breathing giant dragon ! he seem so powerful i always wanted to pick him. I had to play with him or have him in my line up !

but then....... i realized something when i used to play pokemon stadium or other handheld games......

as soon as a water move such as "bubble" even if u 30 level highers he will just fall all out a little sprinkle of water will just kill him so easily .. then a thunder move like spark kill him then ice kills him !

some pokemon can last even if its their weakness not with CHARIZARD he has so many weaknesses and he will just go down really fast

i remember facing someone i had two pokemon he had 1

my first pokemon almost killed him then i had charizard left it all game to this.. he had a water pokemon and use rock slide on me and im like " dude your weakness is this too ?!"

twice and i died...

i said screw this and never use charizard again

i dont have to respect an opinion honestly wrong is wrong

The Wii U had a blitz of great games at its begining whereas I felt the PS4 slowly started to build up steam starting with Bloodborne and Arkham Knight. Now all I play is PS4 mostly due to Street Fighter V and the Wii U has been dead for the last year or 2.

If I started this generation with only PS4, I'd be feeling pretty down on the hobby. It was the Wii U that was really kicking it in the beginning. Now it's the reverse.

You mean exclusives wise

No I mean in general. Arkham Knight and Street Fighter V are not exclusive.

But we had fantastic AAA/AA caliber games in 2013 , 2014 and 2015 ( those are the years you mention ). How is possible for those years considering you talking generally which means , PS4-PC-X1 , to be empty without Wii U ?

Also in 2013 we had some of the most epic releases of past generation as well , that of TLOU and GTA5. I dont get how things would feel empty to you without Wii U , really. But ok , im not big fan of Nintendos 1st parties so i might not feel that as you.

i dont get how he would feel empty either...

is mario kart really that great ?? smh

People don't always want what they ask for, especially gamers.

For instance, when EA/DICE got the license to Star Wars and were making Star Wars Battlefront, the perfect formula would have been just to create a Battlefield game with a Star Wars skin. Of course, there goes the cynics saying not to. Why? Instead they did everything not to make it like Battlefield with a Star Wars skin and it sucked because of that. None of the signature classes like assault, sniper, medic, support, with their skills like supplies replenishment, first aid and downed player revival, recon and spawn beacons. No squad based teams. No large map 64 player battles. No conquest. No Rush. People whined this stuff wasn't in there but what did they expect? They were saying "don't make it like Battlefield durrrrr"; they got what they asked for.

After COD4:MW released, everybody wanted their next gen games to have multiplayer, didn't matter if the games were great but designed specifically around the single player experience. Players griped, gaming media griped, they'd mark down awesome SP games without MP. And what did that get us? Watered down SP experiences because resources diverted to the tacked on MP. Plus, most that MP was tacked on, because frankly everybody wanted the next COD with their MP and they weren't going to get it.

Remember people complaining that the COD games were all the same. Like gaming in general, they whine about things always being the same. Then, there they go giving us the biggest redirection of COD since COD4:MW with the latest Infinite Warfare, and what do they do? They piss and moan about it, yet get all wet over the idea of COD4:MW Remaster at the same time. Goddamn loonies you people are.

Remember all those Sony fanboys begging for a Sony version of Super Smash Bros, they gave us one and it reviewed quite well, but nobody bought it, and Sony canned the studio behind it? Way to not put your money where your mouth is people.

Remember when companies like Visceral made great action survival horror games like Dead Space, Tango Games made Evil Within (again, durr, not survival horror, too much guns durrrrr"), Capcom made Resident Evil 4 and since had a more action oriented direction, that snobbish bitches kept saying "durrr, you should have only 3 bullets and have to memorize enemy placements to conserve ammo, durrrr, and do an all knife runthrough, durrr, that's survival horror, durrrr and should have puzzles which are even harder to solve by awful Engrish localization, duuurrrr". Resident Evil 5 & 6 I'd actually argue were decent, not awful, and I factor in everybody of considerable talent left Capcom after Clover Studios closed in 2006. Instead, people whine about survival horror games needing to be more traditional. Why aren't you crybabies buying Fatal Frame games then? Instead, we got this bullshit Resident Evil Revelations 2, which was such shit, so obviously pandered to the loudmouth self purporting know-it-alls of survival horror with some really bland gameplay, and even worse was people pretending to like it. Pathetic.

Frankly, if Nintendo doesn't want to listen to any of you know-nothing whiny crybabies that are never pleased about anything, I'd be fine with that.

no u have it all wrong.. when they give us what we ask for... they turn around and do something else stupid in the game...

all i have to say it.... take smash bros away wii u would be dead sorry mario kart and splat toons wouldn't be able to carry the system on its own

If developers weren't such tools and could make the game they dream of then we wouldn't have this problem would we? Indie developers do it all the time and it's hit n miss as they are going to appeal only to certain types. That's what happens when you create a game you yourself are passionate about because developers like that are not tools trying to create a one size fits all game.

However let's not be a hypocrite here, everyone whines about something at various points in time. There is always something out there, you will whine and cry about so don't be shocked when gamers do it for games.

i get what you saying they basically be making the games for themselves and not for the fans exactly what they did for paper mario they had no care for the fans they just was like " i want the game to be this way who cares they will buy it anyway"

@immortaldreamcastmasterrace said:

I have said this before Nintendo's problem isn't not listening to fans, that is just a symptom of the problem. The problem is Nintendo has no direct competitor. They are an arcade gaming company. one that focuses solely on gaming. M$ and $ONY are tech giants that have gaming as only one division of the companies. Nintendo has no interest and has said so many times that they are not trying to compete with the other two. They are doing what they have been since the GameCube did terribly: innovating and being creative. This good, but they have no motivation to compete or be competitive and haven't been since SEGA left. You can like or dislike SEGA. That's fine. But SEGA was to Nintendo what Microsoft is to Sony. One will eventually fail without the other.

SEGA was an innovator too. a massive one. This is why they were heralded for many things, such as pushing 3d gaming, More powerful hardware manufactured cheap enough to be feasibly priced for the consumers when released. Pushing the open world RPG genre to new heights (Shenmue) They are the embodiment of 90s gaming culture in many ways.

They had a perfect relationship as rivals with Nintendo and the great Genesis/Megadrive vs SNES is still debated to this very day.

all they have to do is make better game point blank they have no real competitors because they know they will never be able to surpass sony lets be honest

mk8 not even all that nice smash bros didnt live up the the hype that dont really have nothing

"The first few years ( he means 2 to 3 ) of this gen would have been empty without that sweet little system"

Like those 2 to 3 years we didnt have great 3rd party games along with some AAA exclusives on other platforms that Wii U missing big time and this gen would have been empty. Like its empty 2 years now more or less with Wii U being dead.

Oh well , its his opinion , we have to respect this.

I know that 4 or 5 of my close friends have one.

I wouldn't be surprised if all of my serious gamer friends have one - it's a cheap system with a lot of great exclusives on it.

it doesn't have many exclusive im starting to think your bias with this

What's the point of the poll? I know more with a WiiU than a xOne, that doesn't make the xOne more popular than the WiiU xD

the point of the poll was i wanted to know if it was only me who barley know's about the wii u because i know a lot of people but i dont know many with a wii u at all never even heard of it until way later on my family didnt even know about

well we all know xbox one is way more popular anyway so we dont have to even go on that topic but that's not what the post is even about
