[QUOTE="lonewolf604"]i just listened to the hotspot, i don't know if i can believe what they saidgodofratz

I do.

Because we here at GS are so gullible we'll just accept anything CNET says at face value. If you even listened to the hotspot they answered NOTHING towards the whle situation.

[QUOTE="UssjTrunks"][QUOTE="nmwhite"][QUOTE="bretthorror"]Wait... people actually believe GS's mumbo jumbo? .InjuredNoodle

No - I think they've just used clever wording which while accurate doesn't really tell the true story. I could easily believe Eidos threatened to pull advertising without explicitly asking for a change of the review or Jeff's termination (in which case their statement is correct), and that if the the revenue from the advertising was significant, management would almost certainly do something about it. That's business. I'd be gullible if I thought balancing these two fundamental conflicts of interest weren't normal practice and a consideration for *any* commercial organisation reviewing products for which it also carries advertising - including Gamespot's competitors.

This place exploded in outrage when this happened, and all it took was a little bit of clever wording to get everyone back. Pathetic.

Exactly. Any sensible person can see through the total BS Cnet has fed us. And the hotpot, while I do feel sympathetic towards the GS team, answered absolutely nothing towards the whole debacle. Instead they were saying "Oh don't blame us, feel sorry for us" It seems like people are so eager to forgive GS that any random CNET PR statement full of holes can convince the masses to come back. And you know all it's doing? Telling CNET that we'll just accept anything they throw at us and move on, as long as there's a PR statement attached. I bet they're all sitting in a meeting room right now laughing at us right now.

Pitiful.

So why do continue posting on this website? You all complain about it why don't you just leave? Pathetic is saying their website is pathetic and not doing anything about it.

I have left. My forum activity has dropped next to 0 in comparison to before, I just decided to take a few peeks into GS to see if everyone was going to leave, or the CNET bs actually worked and it looks like it has.

Notice how I'm posting this hours after you posted? If I didn't leave this would have been posted MUCH sooner.

Why do you guys always want to "boycott" with 2-3 day notification? Only a handful of people will know. Most sites like kotaku does not even list the "boycott" anywhere in their coverage. You guys need to plan WEEKS ahead not "this friday" and it is going on Wednesday. I'm seriously starting to doubt if people just come here for "entertainment" or something to do. A lot of what's said her eis very illogical and just does nothing to help the situation.

What's my "big idea" you ask? I don't have one. I would like to point out however that it appears GameSpot or whoever sees over User Raitings don't like them to be below a certain number. If I could, I'd rally people up to vote some of the top games like Halo 3, Mass Effect, Unreal, Mario Galixies ect give them all a low score just as you did Kane and Lynch. That by far has been the only message that the users sent and had been aknowledged with the closing down of the User Voting for that game.

You have a point about the boycott. But I see what people wanna do. People were shocked by this and when people see something they want to change it. And change it right away. The boycott wasn't very successful because it was sudden and not many people knew about it. But the question is what can we do? All we can do is support Jeff and wait. Or just leave if that's what you wanna do. (though I don't think that will solve anything) It's a very touch situation for the users. We have been betrayed, left completely in the dark and thrown to the side.

ANd CNET knows that we'll take it and then accept them again a week later. And seriously, it seems like they might be right.

Well, once again, the question is what CAN we do?

We can walk away and never look back. That's what I'm doing. Staying on this site, reading GS reviews, etc., means that you are supporting GS and thus supporting the fact that advertisers can have a say in journalistic integrity, something I cannot support. You might see me lurking in the forums now and then, but officially my relationship with GS is over.

Well with Kotaku's new post, it's now official to the GS defence force. GS can never be trusted again.

[QUOTE="onemic"]Unless you like killing yourself and hurting the others around you I don't see why anyone would enjoy smoking. TyrantDragon55

I don't think anyone enjoys it. You get sucked into it for stupid reasons and then by the time you realize that you've developed a problem, you're already so addicted that you get migraines if you go so much as an hour without one.

Worthyofnote just said otherwise.
