Haven't played witcher 3 but if its anything like witcher 2 then LOOOOOOOOOOOOOOL!

Dark Souls games have some of the best/responsive/fair sword combat in any video game ever. TW2 by comparison is dog poop.

Despite the slow start, the ps3 actually sold worldwide at a higher rate than the 360 from the getgo. It just wasn't high enough to catch up quickly and took a number of years. On top of that, the 360 had a couple of amazing holidays which made it take longer.

Not saying the xbone won't catch up but it doesn't look as likely where the ps3 was a given if the rate of sales stayed the same.

Microsoft has yet again weighed in on the 1080p/60fps debate that is circling around the Xbox One. UK marketing executive Harvey Eagle says in a new interview that gamers would be challenged to see the differences in resolution and frame rate for Xbox One and PlayStation 4 games on a 60-inch or smaller TV.

Awww this is cute

Umm... he's right. Sorry to burst all the cows bubbles, but you really can't tell a difference. And, if by some miracle you have had eagle eyes transplanted, the difference is not what the cows claim it is.

This explains quite a bit: Poor StormyJoe needs some new glasses.

You probably could have saved some money and just stuck with the Xbox 360 this generation since you can't actually tell the difference between resolutions.

As I have said many times - prove me wrong, and I will admit it. I have posted dozens of articles in the past from AV sites that mention how there isn't that noticeable of a difference unless you have a really big TV (60"+) and are less than 8 feet from the screen. All I get from people like you is "Bu bu bu but I can tell a difference!"

I have a 65" inch Sharp Quattron at home, and from my eyes to my TV is about 12". I can't really tell the difference between 1080p, 1080i, and 720p. I've had other people over to my house, and I have switched between 720p and 1080p and asked if they thought there was a noticable difference - they couldn't tell either.

Believe what you want, but don't p!ss on my leg and tell me it's raining.

Try it with a PC. Switching consoles from one resolution to another won't give you the same result. If you can't tell then, than i don't know what to tell you.

@deadline-zero0: It was easy to tell a drop in quality from killzone sp to mp. I just assumed it was others things than resolution since it was said to be 1080p. But is easily noticably blurrier in mp.

It wasn't known even by the pixel counters at GAF for over a month? Am I wrong?

You actually are wrong in a certain respect. Killzone MP DOES output at 1080 lines of resolution and thus, by traditional pixel counting methods, comes out to a 1080p image in resolution. However, it is not truly interlaced either, hence why nobody caught it. Its best to think of it as an a resolution somewhere in between 1080i and 1080p.

Meh, even though it has a slightly more interesting library than the ps4 and xbone, that will change pretty quickly.

I tire of the same old IPs over and over again. I've played every super mario, mario kart, smash, and zelda game. These games are no longer must-buys to me. They just feel like really expensive dlc. If they get something new and interesting, maybe i'll start paying attention to nintendo again.

I'm legitimately surprised by the number of people who say the 360 controller is the greatest ever. I mean, yeah it was comfortable and all, but the face buttons sucked, the D-pad sucked, and the bumpers were meh. The only buttons that were actually good were the analog sticks and triggers.

From what I've played, the ds4 seems very comfortable, but I haven't had a lot of time with it. Same with the xbone controller. IMO there hasn't been any controller that really gets everything right. My all-time favorite would probably be the snes controller. Although it wasn't the greatest to hold, that thing was pretty dang responsive. All the buttons/d-pad were really well done.

How could anybody actually believe this article. Its a random blog with "anonymous" sources, aka no credibility. Its written about as poorly as something that our local community would come up with.

Cough cough * Because of Watch_dogs maybe ? Far Cry 3 as well ?

Except it was written in the same poor language that the fanboys around here write, hardly professional. Its a well known fact that developers make their E3 demoes often times well before the game is fully playable and have to dress up a lot. In regards to watch-dogs, I don't know how that is even a controversy. The "patch" is unstable and looks like crap in practice.

This is just some fanboy's fantasy conspiracy

@MBirdy88: Yeah in regards to the vita, I'm having a blast with terraria which just showed up on ps+ and the accessibility is the big thing. I'm too busy in life now to just sit down on teh couch and play games for hours on end. With the vita, I play it in bed, I take the dog out to crap and play it outside, I take full advantage of the sleep functionality and get a little time in here and there. Consoles have become a production that I don't have much time for anymore.

You're right about the console tech as well. Its heading in the direction of everything being connected to everything else. PS4 to vita streaming and steam streaming are HUGE deals to me. While i don't have a ps4 yet, it supposedly works pretty well. The steam streaming works great as I pretty much played the entirety of dark souls 2 that way. I'm just waiting for the day I can stream my PC to my vita, if that'll ever come. There is some homebrew app for that, but it is broken and hardly works. My fingers are crossed for PS NOW as I think it has a lot of potential, especially for somebody like me who is on the go a lot.

I would buy a ps4 immediately if this were true (the ffvii compilation, screw ffxiii). 7 and crysis core were both great experiences for me. Can't say much for the others but haven't heard good things.

In other news, the woman in the apartment above me is vacuuming. It sounds like cries from the planet.

That's your fault for buying a PS4. Both it and the Xbone are trying to be PC's. If you wanted the best exclusive lineup, you should have gone with a PC and Wii U.

I'm not sure how you justified buying a PS4 if you didn't like the exclusive outlook for the first couple years. There is NO point in buying a console if you don't like the exclusives (especially when you own the best multiplat platform).

Heh I am getting a Wii-U next, there is no budget for a PS3. I just get more disappointed with console gaming since last generation.. they are losing their identity and advantages.. I have a bad feeling about this one too... just getting shallow.

I suppose there is a chance of persona 5 golden on PS4 in like 5 years lol.

more evidence that you shouldn't buy into the s*it system wars spews... these new "HD consoles" are shallow... their E3's were shallow. much dissapointment wow.

Its not that the new consoles are shallow. Its that the games that get the majority of the press are the battlefields, CODS, assassins creeds, and first party games of the world because those are the really big sellers. The ps3 has been getting a steady stream of jrpgs for a long time now and the new consoles will get their share as well. You just have to research outside of your traditional sources, which only care about the heavy hitting, big sellers if you are into a less popular type of game.

The vita gets a lot of hate around here for being a mobile port machine. Well, I bought it specifically for that reason and couldn't be happier. There's a number of ports that I am super excited for because I want to experience them ON my vita, like Rogue Legacy for example. The game isn't a huge release or anything, but the vita is a great system to play metroidvanias on. Do your homework before you buy and you won't end up feeling disappointed.

Besides, don't you have a 360? Persona 4 arena is also on 360.
