These guys are commenting on negatives that don't really exist since the game is designed to make squad play important. You're getting flanked because you're squads arent doing it right.

And complaining about the time to get unlocks is lol.

@warmblur: You havent played this game then. BFV actually implemented a lot of sim-type shooter gameplay into this game.

They got rid of grenade spam, spotting spam, you dont have unlimited ammo, you dont regen health you have to depend on support classes for these things. They added building fortifications. It actually really tactical.

IMHO this is the best BF since BF2.

The only major drawbacks I have with the game currently is the maps aren't as good as previous games and that it launched without Americans and the Soviets. But I'm guessing they will come in time with patches since the game is going for a historical timeline with the DLC.

@Mogan: Reviews dont have to be video features and most of them could be done by freelancers. This site is complete garbage compared to what it once was.

The problem with this review is that the reviewer only put a cursory amount of time into talking about the actual content of the game and its kind of obvious. They played the game to the point of understanding the gameplay but thats probably about it.

I bought the game day one on preview for Xbox and couldnt even play it due to it crashing so much. But its definitely come a long way since.

I'm not going to totally defend CE blindly because it does have a lot of bad. It is Funcom (aka Failcom) afterall.

But theres some really really bright spots in this game that can kind of balance them out. The game is really like a 6 or a 7, and if they fixed the janky servers might even be 8 worthy.

The big thing that the reviewer missed and made a cursory flyby over is the pve world, story of the game and the dungeons/boss encounters. Unlike most other hardcore survival games, CE does actually have a story to progress thru with an ending that actually gets pretty indepth with its knowledge of Conan lore. Any actual fan of the Conan universe will be impressed by this. Theres actually some pretty good boss fights and pve encounters in the game. Also, you can actually just have a good time playing this game exploring which doesnt really happen in many survival games. You can actually level to cap just of exploration xp. The wall climbing dynamic was something that was missing in the survival genre. Then theres things like the sandstorms and the corruption mechanic that also add a layer of depth. Add in the fact that the game world is HUGE with lots of different biomes and structures to explore/climb and its actually got a fair more amount of depth than most games in this genre.

The next big thing the reviewer missed about this game is its probably one of the better if not the best building game out there. The types of structures and things you can make puts Ark to shame. For anyone that enjoys this aspect of these types of games (which is a lot of people), what they did with this game is amazing.

The final thing thats omitted is the thrall system which is pretty unique and actually a new an interesting concept. Being able to capture npcs and put them to work which unlocks other items etc is a pretty nice mechanic.

Also, the combat seems kinda sluggish and slow, but it actually has more depth than the combat in Ark or other survival games due to different weapon effects and armor effecting movement speed. The major bad point about it is in its current state people can just run away if they want to and bows need to be reworked.

The biggest omissions for me are the lack of mounts like horses/camels and the lack of npc cities. But they even have some of those planned with Sepermeru.

So yeah it does have a lot of flaws and probably isnt for everyone. But if you liked Ark Survival (especially building stuff) you will probably love this game.

SoD2 is a actually a much better game than this review makes it out to be. Which is kinda common at this point in the gen since piling on Xbox this gen has become the cool/expected thing to do, especially on GS.

Xbox games are held to unrealistically high expectations and the more games they bring out that aren't 10/10 games the harsher the criticism and higher expectations seems to get. Same thing happened with Ryse, ReCore and Superlucky. The funny thing is the outstanding games MS has brought out this gen (Forza, FH, Halo 5) get brushed off as 'games no one cares about' or nitpicked and downplayed in the same fashion.

I'm not saying the game doesn't have issues, but its definitely better than a 5, its more like a 7.5. Especially if you actually liked the first game because this one actually improved on pretty much everything in the original game. Yes its got some bugs, but if you actually put any time into it its a pretty fun and challenging game. I'm playing on X1X and I haven't really had many graphics issues and its a pretty good looking game. The biggest issue for me has been the wonky terrain.

What sold me on this game was actually getting into an unexpected shootout/ongoing war with another group of survivors following a dialogue exchange in an instance where we were supposed to trading. Then managing to eventually wipe them and having some of their survivors join my community. The RPG elements of this game are great and its something that not many games have done on this level barring Divinity and Pillars.

I get people want Sony level first party from MS which is fine. But don't miss out on this game based on this review. If you like the genre its worth playing.

Off topic - What really would have pushed this game over the top would have been adding a battle royale type mode where maybe 4 players are operating on the same game and have to decide to either join their communities or fight each either like TWD, with maybe a player controlling the zombie faction or killed off players becoming the zombie faction.

Fortnite had nothing to do with Paragon failing. Paragon is more like Smite or Paladins.

Paragon failed because their console version released on PS4 only instead of Xbox.

Being greedy for the huge PS4 base they shot themselves in the foot since most PS4 gamers prefer single player games.
