Not in my opinion.

I'll stick with the absolute masterpiece that Naughty Dog delivered in Uncharted 4: A Thief's End - an undeniable all time great video game.
As I absolutely love the Forza Horizon games I'm for sure springing for the physical Ultimate Edition (gotta have that steelbook) because I know I will play FH3 for loads of hours making it worth it in my case.
I think in order to save the genre it needs to move to a new publisher/developer and start from the ground up. The "WWE 2K" game series is just not good, IMO, and not getting any better either, IMO.
It really sucks because the annual release of a wrestling title was among my most anticipated games of the year. Nowadays, sadly, that's no longer the case as it has been decimated by people who don't know what they're doing.
As long as a game is a steady 30fps, I'm happy in regards to the frame rate if it means higher graphical fidelity. Not that I'm opposed to 60fps, obviously, but if it means less stunning graphics, then I say do away with it if a steady 30fps can be achieved.
As far as resolution, 1080p definitely matters to me. In an age of everything being so razor sharp - my movies, my phone screen, my iPad screen, etc. - I don't need soft, blurry games. I want that sharpness present in my games as well.
For me, 1080p + 30fps + higher graphical fidelity = win.
It's a sequel to the Tomb Raider reboot - what were you expecting? The formula for the reboot worked incredibly well, as evident by the sales and reviews of both consumer and media. They were never, nor should they have considered, any real change to the formula. Tweaks are fine, of course, if not expected, but why mess with a good thing?
I, for one, cannot wait. It is my most anticipated game this year by far.
I think the Xbox One controller is probably my favorite.
Currently playing - LEGO: The Movie Video Game on PC.
I avoid it for the simple fact that I don't feel like dealing with the cops. The cops are annoying in GTA games, IMO, so I try not to do anything to get them to come after me.
Just started, and finished in one sitting, Gone Home. Was a great experience that game was.
What I'm not playing any more is a game I tried like hell to get in to and simply could not, and that is Rage on PC. Bored me to tears, so much so that, even with 5 hours committed (wasted) on it, I simply don't care enough to continue any more. Rage is now off of my now playing list.
I'm off to browse my catalog and figure out what's next.
