I just finished the game for the first time... I will say that I liked the atmosphere and general vibe better in the first game. There really wasn't any sense of dread or uneasiness in Columbia. Enter room, clear room, listen to audio logs for plot snippets, rinse, repeat. I was never worried about what was waiting behind the next door like the first game. The lack of any suspense factor, at least for me, really took away a lot of what made the first Bioshock such a great game.

That's not to say that Infinite was a bad game... far from it... I thought it was really quite good. But once the game slapped down the 'multiple universe' card... Well, I knew I was in for at least a goofy paradox or two when it was all said and done... so the big 'twist' ending just didn't hit home for me.

I would use Possess to keep the minions somewhat busy on each other... Then I'd plow in close range, using the carbine at first, then swapping to the shotgun once I took down the distance. With those two weapons fully upgraded, she won't have much left after a full clip of each.

I've only done one heist so far, the jewelry store. I completed the mission and they showed the payout screen. After the $2.5m was deducted to pay off the house I dragged off the mountain, there was still plenty of money to go around. IIRC, it was about $700k for Michael and $250k for Franklin... Except neither of these guys are showing any more money in the profile screen. Am I missing something? They both only have the few thousand dollars they had before I did the heist... ?

I'm about six hours into things, split my time about half and half between the missions and just exploring.... I just recently unlocked Trevor in the main story, so not too far along. So far, I am really enjoying things. I didn't have any real problem with GTA4, although I thought Cousin Nico was a bit dull as the main character and Michael and Trevor are both improvements. So far Franklin is kind of taking over the Nico role as the guy who complains about his boys going crazy only to accept every crazy mission that comes his way. That was my main complaint with GTA4... the main character Nico wanting us to believe that he really didn't want to be doing all these awful things... yet once you started a mission he was full blown pyschopathic. At least in Vice City and San Andreas the characters were all just remorseless criminals from the start and rarely tried to make you think otherwise.

So far the only real thing I prefer from GTA4 was the vehicle handling. I really liked how the cars had weight and momentum and you had to properly utilize your handbrake and powerslides to make sharp turns. So far with GTA5 it seems to have swung back towards go-kart handling... but I'm getting used to it and it's not a big deal in the big picture.

The cops are harder to escape and more dangerous in a shoot-out in GTA5, which I consider a good thing, as the cops were just too much of a pushover in the last game. The environment is big and beautiful to look at, even if it doesn't have anything as interesting as Times Square.

I've been bored with FPS for years now... but I mainly write that off to just getting older. I'm in my late 30s now and I've seen / played them all. At some point, the basic genre just becomes a little stale. Ithink part of the problem is that most of today's mainstream popular games are twitch based, high speed, team deathmatch frag fests shoehorned into "real world" settings like CoD and the ilk. I enjoy the twitch based games just fine, but they work better when you have to deal with purpose designed, multi-tiered levels... like the old Unreal Tournement type stuff. Twitch type gameplay using "real world" weaponry and urban settings just becomes wanking sniper camp fests and nade spam. I'd like to see military FPS become more deliberate and tactical and a return of arena-based twitch games where knowledge of the level design meant more than knowing the top 5 sniper camping spots.

I just picked it up today and so far have played the first three Pacific missions. It's about what I expected, a solid mix of CoD2 and CoD4. At this point, I think 9.2 might be a little high... but I'm probably only a third of the way through the single player and haven't gone online at all yet.

I'd probably give it an 8.0 as of right now. It's a solid and entertaining play but nothing exactly groundbreaking. Fans of CoD2 won't be disappointed but people thinking "WW2 again?!?" after falling in love with CoD4 could probably pass or wait for it to hit the bargain bin.

'm running Vista now... Similar to one of the previous posters, I was building a new rig and figured why not? I have a co-worker who gets the Microsoft Alumni discount, so Vista Ultimate for $50 was worth a try. I haven't been blown away by it and I'm never going to bother upgrading my other XP-based PCs, but it's been just fine on my gaming rig.

I gave up on World of Warcraft over a year ago... but it had nothing to do with Blizzard's support or the downtimes or anything like that. In fact, I thought that the game was incredibly well run and maintained considering it's scope and the huge amount of players online at any given time in any given server.

I gave up on the game simply because I got tired of chasing the carrot. Things were all fun and dandy at first, see new things and explore... but eventually that non-stop grind of chasing the carrot hoping to get that next trinket or drop or earn more honor ot whatever just sucked every bit of fun from the game. I was playing because I felt I had to and not so much because it was enjoyable. If you are complaining about Warcraft because it's not availalbe enough, then you are in WAAAAAAY too deep and probably need to take a step back regardless.

Freespace 2 was indeed an awesome, awesome game for it's time... I wonder how the thing would react to Vista + DX10? heh... I should pull out my old CD binder and find out. I recently did the same thing with X-Wing Alliance and had a lot of fun with it. There were some graphical glitches here and there, but it played surpirsingly well considering it's age.

I loved the Privateer games but wasn't all that impressed with Freelancer. I guess it was promised to be so much more than it ended up being. It wasn't as good as the Privateer games and it was supposed to be the "next-gen" in space sims. Oh well, I hope the genre makes a comeback at some point.
