"yes im fully aware of the workings on consoles and backwards compatibility, i never stated any points, made any assumptions"
Yes you did:
"so a windows 98 game will work with windows 10 today? (without torrents or emulators)"
You tried to dismiss PC capability of playing legacy games because they are do many of them via emulation. Even though you also go on about PS backwards capability....which is emulation.
" i said legally without torrent or emulation."
No you didn't. You never once raised the legality of it. Oh, and if you own an original copy, emulation is 100% legal for PC games...
BTW PSX emulation, while not legal, is available too and actually means I COULD play more PS1 games than you can on your PS5, not that I would want to.
"you're the only one wading in with telling people what to say and do.
so how about you don't and jog on to the next topic....."
@itchyflop: you do realise emulation is how consoles achieve backwards compatibility? There isn't actually a PS4 or 3 inside the PS5. If your dismissing emulation as a legitimate way of playing a game from 1995, like we can, then your PS5 can ONlY play PS5 games.
You can play pretty much anything using a variety of ways, emulation being one of them but you can’t just dismiss that, the point we are talking about still stands. You can do it. Hell most games from the last 20 years just need installing, no emulation required.
Why are you talking about Returnal again? It’s got nothing to do with the original point you replied to.
His comment was flippant, a little poke. If it triggered, just bite your lip and enjoy your exclusives. Platform discussions are a circle jerk into pointlessness.
@jeremyalexander: But they key point I'm making is the three should be 3 installable products on PC. just like all previous CoD releases on Steam were SP + MP (seperate) so one could install and uninstall either as it pleased.
To have all three modes (plus Special Ops) as one entity has just been a giant cluster**** for PC gamers.
