http://www.joystiq.com/2008/09/03/xbox-360-price-cuts-official-60gb-299-elite-399-arcade-199/ "Major Nelson announced that the price cuts for the Xbox 360 we reported on two weeks ago will be official as of Sept. 5. The new prices for the console are: Xbox 360 Arcade - $199 Xbox 360 60GB - $299 Xbox 360 Elite - $399 This means that the Elite and 60GB received a $50 price drop, while the Arcade received an $80 cut. Now we wait to see if the new prices help boost the Xbox 360's slouching sales."

(note: this is new mobo and I've only installed the factory drivers - everything works normal) After standby, when I use the PC again the screen is offset to the right, basically until the scroll bar is almost gone. It's not a big issue, I just have to go to settings and change the resolution to 800x600 then back to 1024x768 and the screen is correct again. It's only after standby, as when you shut it off or it goes to screen saver, it works normally. Any suggestions? Maybe go download the updated current (onboard) graphics drivers?

Video card came with PC already equipped with on-board video. It came pre-installed so no CD or manual included. Can I rip this video card and put it in a different PC with no on-board video? It's AGP, super old PCs.

PC died. Here are the conditions: -when it dies, it doesn't just BOOM, shut off. It actually gives you a "Windows now shutting down" as if you manually go to shut down -once it dies, turning it back on causes a on-off-on-off-on-off crazy cycle at the black boot up screen -if I leave it untouched and off, every few minutes it comes on by itself! What the!!???!! -eventually, it will refuse to turn on at all as if it is not plugged in -if I leave it alone for a day or so, it goes back to normal. It'll work for an hour or so and then randomly, "Windows now shutting down". -CPU fan still work. Everything works like normal. It seems like something is overheating. If I leave it alone to rest, it'll work again and once it gets a little hot, it does the dying cycle. This leads me to believe that it is not a virus because if it was a virus, I wouldn't be able to use it at all for any amount of time. It is not the power supply because I already tried a different one and same thing happened. What do you think it could be? CPU fan clogging up? Needs new thermal compound? If a CPU is overheating, would it know how to shutdown like what is happening to me? (by the way, it's a super cheap 2001-era PC so if it dies, I don't care. But it would be great to have it running again just to type and surf net)

360 handles pixels better and that's why in sports games the uniform jersey numbers and names look more sharp than the PS3. That is why PS3 looks more blurry when compared side by side with 360. PS3 obviously does lighting better...just look at the sunsets, clouds (and how the sunlight reacts to the clouds ala GT5), smoke, and fog used in PS3 games. These are universal hardware limitations that will always hinder each system, respectively.

Recently traded in my broken 360 with Best Buy PRP. I almost puked upon seeing the new HDD. It's just all gray and the top where it is labeled "HDD" is not even chrome plated anymore. It appears to be just a faux-stainless steel sticker placed on top of plastic. Ok, basically, the whole thing is plastic. Not the good plastic like the shell of the 360. Plastic like they use to make pens and disposable forks. It's not that the looks doesn't match - that is part of it. But quality wise, this thing is very, very light. I can feel the difference in weight and quality. This thing would shatter if I dropped or bumped it. Now, I'm aware of cost-cutting procedures such as using 65nm technology chips and the fact that the console and controllers are just gray plastic instead of being painted silver like the very early models. But to manufacture these cheap HDD and hide it in the Pro bundles, that's just a low blow. The Elite are still getting the nice chrome plating and I believe the HDD sold in store (by itself) are also chrome plated. Here are my personal pictures: Call me an idiot, but I'll be buying the better HDD soon.

http://www.vigorgaming.com/ Is the operating hard-drive referring to what usually is seen on home PCs as drive [D:]? How come other PC custom-built sites usually do not give you an option for operating HDD and just goes straight to storage HDD? If this is what an operating HDD is, how important is it that you choose a good operating HDD? I see that the Vigor PC I'm interested in (Force Recon) has a default 160GB 10,000RPM HDD. Isn't that pushing it? Wouldn't it be better to subtract -$125 and just choose a 80GB 7,200RPM (or similar) HDD? Would that suffice? No, I do not want to build my own PC. No, I do not want to Pass "Go". No, I do not want to collect $200.

Quick question: is it confirmed yet whether PS3 will be region-free for games? If so, will it be region-free for backwards compatible games as well? There are so many PS2 SNK games to catch up on. I hope it works out that way.
