the credit card holder has to call microsoft to cancel the subscribtion. It automatically puts it on auto renew if you do purchase it.

I just recently got a 12 month card off ebay for cheap as and they emailed me the code. (tip just check their rating) (p.s so you dont have to leave your desk!)

i only use redeemable codes now days, as with credit cards not only do you have to call them to cancel, you get directed to someone based in india or the us to talk about yr credit card info. blah.

i get my gold memberships via redeemable codes now days. not going to call india again, had to say 3 times cancel the CARD on the account, DONT CANCEL MY ACCOUNT!

also did not like having to call a number based in india to talk about your own credit card! privacy..
