Just for reference here is the average PC setup based on Steam's hardware Survey.

System RAM

8 GB

Intel CPU Speeds

2.3 Ghz to 2.69 Ghz

Physical CPUs
2 cpus

Video Card Description Intel HD Graphics 3000

VRAM1024 MB

Primary Display Resolution

1920 x 1080

Total Hard Drive Space

250 GB to 499 GB

emgesp

These specs wouldn't be so bad was it not for Intel's integrated graphics which are pure shit for gaming.

I hope Valve's "SteamBox" and AMD's APU line will eventually surpass Intel's graphics crap.

Kinda early for that but I agree on the ray-tracing and CGI-level graphics.

I guess the PS5 will have (if it materializes) one, very capable "CGPU" that will do all the graphics, physics, general processing, ect. and a lot of RAM to accomodate it.

I also imagine retail distibution will be a thing of the past by then, being replaced by direct download, streaming and cloud computing, allowing for real-time dynamic events and social connectivity in games and media.

We will probably also see the dawn of (average consumer level) "virtual reality" and associated accessories and controllers.

No Super Mario in the poll?

boo@TC. ;)

Also - y u no bring back some of your old, great franchises, Nintendo ?!

PurpleMan5000

Almost all of the games in that list have had recent and/or upcoming releases.

Doesn't matter.

Prior to the "New SMB" series, Super Mario was the highest-quality and most innovative Nintendo franchise.

Mario Galaxy was the only Wii game I was actually really exited for.

[QUOTE="princeofshapeir"]The violence in TLOU was important to the game's atmosphere and tone. It was important that it be very realistic. It doesn't have to be in a game like GTA. Lumpy311

If you aim a shotgun at a guys head at close range and shoot it, it isn't gonna be intact.

Can't wait for technology to reach the point where we can see the actual brain pieces spurting out of the guy's head.

That doesn't sound good does it?

You can see pieces of brains going out in SoF II.

Resident Evil 4 also allowed to blast heads into pieces.

The game will have such a small installbase unfortunetely. Netret0120

Well what's the point in making Wii U games, then?

Might as well make games for other systems...

Soldier of Fortune 1 & 2 still have the best "video game gore", imo.

Never played a single metroid game in my life, so proud of myself.

You would do yourself a favour playing Super Metroid. ;)

Yes, it's called - Donkey Kong Country: Tropical Freeze 2. ;)

p.s.: I got nothing against DKC, I just felt "let down" after all the hype fellow Nintendo fans were making prior to DKC:TF's reveal, like, "next-gen engine that will showcase Wii U's true capabilities" and "Metroid Prime 4" or even "Retro developed Star Fox".

Turned out these were just "false hope"... (like many times before, tbh)

Well I'm not into the Mario kart or Kirby air ride games. I'm more into realistic type racing games like burn out or need for speed.

The only racing game I have is hot pursuit 2 which is fun once in awhile.

Are the NASCAR games any good?

slamminjammin69

Dirt to Daytona is pretty much the only race sim on the system and apparently it comes close to even PC's 2003 Season which is often considered the best NASCAR sim to date.

Here's a vid showing the "hardcore mode" physics:
