I imagine they would sell them for 599-699$ if they had better specs.

For that money, people rather build PC or buy a new phone...

Also, better specs = more cooling and better power supply required.

And in the end of the day, the high-end PCs would still outdo them.

One would expect the next-gen consoles will finally be able to make 1080p standard but it seems that won't be so...

But there's always the PC where you choose what resolution and detail level you will have.

Spartan070

It's the launch cycle... See Lair - see TLOU See Kameo - see Halo 4

To be honest console games always made sacrifices when it comes to resolution and framerates.

It's one way to get better detail out of fixed specs.

Some consoles even had memory expansions in the past, to increase the resolution and/or detail level.

But this approach would likely not work very well today. (it didn't really back then either)

will the difference between 900p and 1080p will be that noticeable don;t see it being a problem certainly better than 720p

TheFadeForever

Non-native resolution looks blurrier.

But I guess it still looks good enough if you watch the screen from afar...

[QUOTE="FireEmblem_Man"]I sure hope Retro would take the task.foxhound_fox
Me too. Their handling of DKCR feels even more true to DK form than Metroid Prime was to Metroid. If they can pull of a DKCR for the Metroid franchise and give it some kind of nostalgia/casual gimmick that could increase interest in the franchise without ruining it's staples, I'd be all for it.

Why not EAD make Metroid 5 for 3DS and Retro Prime 4 for Wii U?

There would be a high-quality side scroller for 3DS(&2DS) and high-quality adventure/FP shooter for Wii U, making good use of the GamePad.

Sounds most reasonable to me...

Good game with nice style, but I guess only those who didn't yet play it are really excited about it.

Not sure why you mentioned GTA in this thread tho.

If you want to compare sales and hype then you already know which title won by a wide margin...

If there is anything good left in the world, Metroid Prime will see another release with quality on par of the first Prime game.   Praise based Miyamoto and Retro.

Edit:  Or any Metroid title, for that matter.  Doesn't matter what style it is, 2d, 2.5d or 3d.

They will make...

Metroid Party U! ;) :P

Those guys should either get it for PS360 or wait for Watch Dogs instead. (or check out Lego Undercover)

There's next to zero chance for a Wii U version considering the low install base and slow sales.

GTA is supposed to be more toned down in that regard. TLOU needed that violence to sell how hopeless and cruel the world was, I don't think watching limbs fly off as I drive into people at speed would be very nice

Lumpy311

I think it would be cool.

Is anything wrong with me?

Don't forget wiping away the blood spashes on the wind screen like in Quarantine. ;)

With so many first person shooters coming with tremendous quality like Destiny , BF4 , Titanfall and many more ... I cant see how Metroid on a low end hardware will do good. It will need to push level design to another level since gameplay wise ...its just a shooter. We will see

AzatiS

Prime is not your "regular" FP shooter, tho.

It has well-expressed exploration and adventure elements.
