Seems like a strange Wii U knock-off aimed at the casual gamer.

Let's see if casual bite, eh...

[QUOTE="foxhound_fox"] Me too. Their handling of DKCR feels even more true to DK form than Metroid Prime was to Metroid. If they can pull of a DKCR for the Metroid franchise and give it some kind of nostalgia/casual gimmick that could increase interest in the franchise without ruining it's staples, I'd be all for it.FireEmblem_Man

Why not EAD make Metroid 5 for 3DS and Retro Prime 4 for Wii U?

There would be a high-quality side scroller for 3DS(&2DS) and high-quality adventure/FP shooter for Wii U, making good use of the GamePad.

Sounds most reasonable to me...

EAD Doesn't make Metroid games, also like what Foxhound_fox said, Retro is capable of making 2D side scroller games. Heck, they can probably progress the Metroid series better than Sakamoto can. Also, Metroid is a type of series that is better cater to the West than Japan, so making it more like Other M, is asking for the game to fail out here.

Well it was R&D1 which made them but their successors are SPD so I guess they could handle it...

Wii U has a tiny install base, and most Wii U owners are casuals, kids or families, its hardly a hardcore console.

What's a "hardcore console" ? ;)

I think people should stop using that phrase when they don't know what it actually means. (original meaning is "tough game", not "M-rated game with realistic graphics")

[QUOTE="dramaybaz"]Regain? When was AMD ever King?ronvalencia
During Pentium IV era.

Don't forget AMD breaking the 1 GHz barrier before Intel did. ;)

 Not only does Intel hold a virtual monopoly over chips when it comes to the mainstream, but when it comes to PC gaming their product line is far superior to whatever AMD is pushing. princeofshapeir

Bull.

Intel's integrated graphics sollutions are complete rubbish and hold back PC gaming far more than AMD's integrated graphics.

If AMD had the lead in the CPU (or APU) market, PC gaming would seem a lot more affordable and accessible to the general audiences. (let's not forget the majority of PC users don't even know what a "graphics card" is)

It will be Better Than Life. The most popular game will have people throwing chairs through windows to get it and will feature you literally driving down a beach in whatever way you imagine, eating the best meal ever and then staying in a golf resort for some reason.

So... GTA 8? ;)

[QUOTE="drekula2"]

Probably 16GB Ram, 2 TB Storage (with TB's of optional paid cloud storage)

emgesp

16GB's of Ram in 2019-2020? That is only 2x the amount in the PS4. I know we need to keep our expectations low, but that is a little too low in my honest opinion. At worst the PS5 will have only 10x more ram than the PS4, so 80GB's.

If they went by "tradition", PS5 should have 128 GBs of RAM, that is 16-times more than previous console.

But I think 32-64 GB is more realistic. (4/8-times 8 GB GDDR5 or newer type RAM)

I think the central/graphics processor will have between 8-10 TFLOPS or 16-20 TFLOPS of raw compute power.

You need about 7 TFLOPS to render a CGI like Toy Story in real-time.

Compared to other Nintendo franchises, Metroid does not sell very well, so I think it would be a much better idea to make a 2.5d side-scrolling Metroid that plays like Super Metroid but with the same 2.5d graphics style as New Super Mario Bros. I'm sure this would be quicker to develop, cost much less to make, and sell better than another Metroid Prime game, so it would be much more profitable for Nintendo. Plus, it would be something that hasn't been seen on a console in a very long time.starwolf474

Ew.

I'd rather not see "kiddyroid"... ;)

You can never know with Rockstar, though.

Imagine Wii U getting a port while PC getting ignored... :P

If my auntie had bollocks she'd be my uncle.

Not going to happen.  Like the wii before it the wii u will ultimately be limited to last gen technology and will end up making Nintendo fans hype the next console as "changing it all" before Nintendo repeat the process. Cheap company, cheap consoles.

DocSanchez

Well GTA 5 is running on the PS3 and Xbox 360. The Wii U is significantly stronger than both machines. Of course, simply "porting it" wouldn't be enough. Rockstar would have to clean the game up (a lot) which could take time and resources.

But I'm with you in saying that it's not going to happen. I don't see them investing in the Wii U without knowing for certain they'll get a substantial return out of it.

Significantly stronger. People were saying that the whole of the last gen, because logically, it must have been mustnt it? But the wii never showed one game better than the very best xbox games. It was on a par all along and if it wasn't, they had a funny way of showing it. The Wii U, well I'm well within my rights to assume the same until they prove otherwise. There hasn't been one single game shown which shows it is "significantly stronger".

Technically, Wii and Wii U are "better" than last and current-gen consoles, but it takes a good amount of skill to get that "juice" out of them.

Wii mostly had the shovelware and low-production games so we didn't see anything terribly impressive. (altho the Galaxy games, Other M and Xenoblade looked rather nice)

It's why some GameCube games looked comparable, or even better, than the majority of Wii games.

However the difference is marginal, rather than big.

They clearly invested more into the controllers than the hardware.
