Might pick up some games I've missed on PC like E:TW, Zeno Clash, CoD4 or others if there are good deals. Only interesting summer games are Sims3 and RE5(PC) which I might give a look if it has proper KB/M controls etc. not gonna shell out 50 for them tho so might have to wait till fall.

Looks pretty interesting, more so than the last two, but with the sp being so short and the online not my thing i'll prolly opt for BC2.

Yeah they were bullshots/target renders whatever, but it's not the faces that bother me tho, they're more cartoony than realistic now but they can still do the job, it was mostly the animations and the clothes(textures and blockyness) that caught my eye in a bad way. But they'll prolly throw ton of blur and other post-processing effects on it before it's done so doesn't really matter what it looks like, you won't be able to see it anyway.

I try not to get hyped for mods since you never know how long they'll take or how they really turn out. But definately interested, hell I'd pay for it if Valve bought and finished it.

I knew it was the big but I didn't know it was THAT big, that's like twice the size of Ireland. But does anyone know how big the map is in games like X3, Eve, Freelancer etc.

If you're recording for internet you prolly won't need huge resolutions, so I'd advice playing at a lower resolution and letting fraps record at full size. You could try checking 'no sync' too. And I'm not sure but I think that if fraps is set to record at 25fps it will cap your in-game framerate to that.

I agree with him on the blurry texture popping downsides of UE3, but really, what's the option? Making a whole new engine for every game just isn't efficient and would somewhat counter the edge 360 has as the "easy to develop for platform".

Of course it's possible that next gen Microsoft will have Epic make UE specifically for their console but that would just open up the door for a new "UE3" from another developer, easy to use middleware engines are always needed.

And 360's problem isn't that the exclusives use UE3, I mean the only AAAE that does is Gears which is made by friggin Epic themselves, the problem is the lack of exclusives in general, having to make your own engine from the scratch isn't gonna help.

Kotor 1/2, Bloodlines, Riddick, Psychonauts, HL2 on PC are some that I have played recently and can honestly say I had no complaints about the graphics or gameplay.

It would definately be brought up more in graphics debates. Many good looking games are barely mentioned since there's no ownage to be had. Also a lot of people tend to concentrate on the character models and effects rather than the scale. Also not as many people propably played it. And it's clearly best looking on PC which is why a consolite would be hesitant to hype its graphics, and for pc gamers it takes a backseat to Crysis and Stalker.

If I have to stare at the character's ass for the whole game it might as well be an attractive one. That being said I usualy create several characters, both male and female. The male ones tend to end up being too much like the real me, as in boring, while with the female character I'm more detached and can play the role I want.
