If this was about americans always being good guys in military shooters I'd support the move but given Russia's current government we should expect a game about a powerful and handsome russian leader beset on all sides by countries that hate russia and hire homosexual assassins to destroy his 'family values'. Also he spends the entire game with his shirt off in a manner that is not at all homoerotic.

Its all about balance, something the industry is very bad at too much of the time. I'm glad Cage makes these different ways to experience games but the problem is that he strips away player agency. Thats fine for the kind of experience he was creating but in other games it can be disastrous. look at the transformation between mass effect 2 & 3. ME3 set out to be a more cinematic and therefore dialogue options were reduced such as removing the neutral option from conversations, some sections don't give the player a single choice in several minutes of conversation. Doesn't seem like a big thing yet it reduced the player's feeling of agency. in previous games Shepherd's story was your story, now Shepherds story was his or hers alone, you just helped them shoot stuff. Cage is excellent for showing that the player can experience and enjoy normal and very human interactions in a game, now if only the player could have some real agency while doing these interactions.

@songoku0206 @moonlightwolf01 @steve4123456789 Sony seems to be embracing Indies left right and centre, M$ had to revise their policy on self publishing after massive public outcry but no indie games are just a niche known only to a few pc players. Have you been living under a rock or something.

@YukoAsho What kind of funny is that for years innovative writers and film makers have been trying to find ways of giving their reader/viewer more agency yet in the medium where agency is most possible all Cage seems to want to do remove that agency so he has complete control of how they experience his story. Perhaps he should try writing a book or maybe take a university module on post-modern literature to broaden his horizons.

@silvo16 His writing really isn't very good, If he just directed this game and let a good screenwriter do his scripts the games would probably be a lot better. Ellen Page carries this game without her most people would just be laughing at how dumb the plot is.
