@zrex2metagor I think its probably got something to do with the amount of money thrown at this project compared to the results. people expect to see impressive gameplay demos that demonstrate how good the game's getting, not a first time flier spinning around because they don't know where the throttle is.

That interface looks terrible, the screen looks so cluttered I couldn't even begin to figure out where most of the information was. They should have a look at the Elite: Dangerous interface pretty much everything there is easy to understand and it doesn't cover up your entire screen.


Also was it just me or did this guy not seem to know where the throttle was, he seemed just to spin around like a space turret, except a space turret might at least fire its weapons once or twice.

@billzihang The real question is how much support the game will get post launch. Which platform gets priority for bug fixing and patches, the relatively small community of backers or the massive console publisher.

@origkillmachine The difference comes when the backers expect to be having the game on one platform and are then told its actually going to be exclusive to another. It's not such a big deal here since backers will still get their PC version and its a single-player game, but can you imagine if they did this to a multi-player game, the player community on the original platform would be restricted to just the backers.


The other problem is that it highlights some of the bait and switch issues with kickstarter which of course damages peoples faith in the platform and while T.S. could probably get backing from other sources there are plenty of indie devs who can't and will be hurt by people quite rightly becoming more suspicious of kickstarter projects.

Can't wait for both of these but I've got to admit that I wish there was one that wasn't so open world/multiplayer focused coming out. Used to love playing x-wing and tie fighter where the focus was all on the missions and combat rather than picking up loot or ferrying cargo. Sure I'd still like multiplayer element, i can just imagine how great it would co-oping missions in tie fighter with you're friends as wing men instead of the ai but it would nice to have a game where you felt like part of a military organisation instead of just a random pilot setting out in the galaxy to do stuff.

@Travian1 More likely you'll have to wait days for cities to be built and units will take hours to move across the map, all of which can be sped up with microtransactions, oh and everything you mentioned on top of that.

@devilzzz1983 @MattyTheButcher The combat should be frustrating it adds to the fear, same way the awkward fixed camera in the early resident evil games made combat frustrating. When you can't be certain that your bullets are going to do what you want them to you can actually get some adrenline pumping.
