Based on the below hardware do you think i'll be able to slightly overclock the Q9550? Is my cooling sufficient? And thanks again for the help!

you should do a little research on on how good your cpu cooler is , maybe look at some user reviews online. depending on how good it is will determine how far you can overclock

looks like my Xtreme gear fan isn't horrible. Can handle some overclocking. Some recommend an ugrade, most do not. I"ll see how the temps react when i get the system.

thanks, i switched to an Intel Core 2 Quad Q9550 @2.83 GHz - this one should be pretty solid right? I read it's easily overclocked and just plain better in general.

good choice

Its great even at stock and can overclock pretty well with right hardware. See my sig for an OC example, some guy even runs it higher than me in these forums.gigatrainer

Excellent! Thank you. Wow, i see you're clocking at a speedy rate! If you wouldn't mind taking a look at my hardware (posted on pg 241) do you think i can overclock at all?

Page 241? There isn't any page 241....

Hello everyone! I'm very new to the PC gaming scene (though i'm a console veteran since Colecovision) and I recently purchased the below PC which i built on CyberPowerPC.com and i was hoping to get some feedback on it. I spent roughly $680 (yes, im on a budget)

A few things to note - I have a 24" HD Dell Monitor, MS wireless mouse and keyboard and i plan to run Vista Ultimate 64Bit version.

Could you experts out there let me know if there are any tweaks i can make to vastly improve anything or am i ready to join the PC gaming ranks?

I basically just want to be able to run the current crop of games and have my system still be relevant in 2 or 3 years (at which point i can upgrade parts and such). Am I good to go? Any advice for a noob?
