I would say it’s certainly not gathering momentum or getting bigger.
The industry has to work harder than most to put on a show. These technically expertised companies tend to have real trouble with public presentation.
In the main, they have no charisma or eloquence and just end up fodder for so many cringe compilations.
That, or you get someone like Andrew Wilson, very clearly a fraud, and gamers can’t trust or identify with someone like that.
There’s very little middle ground, maybe people like SkillUp or Danny O Dwyer, but they don’t represent companies.
CD Projekt Red big bossman is probably one of the best at talking to audiences.
