@ryuzaki57 Even if they are not by the same reviewer, they are by the same "company" and the new reviewer should have at least taken note of that and do some research regarding gameplay and graphics improvements. Even if he didn't play the other two himself, getting the relevant info from reading the Ronona review over here or watching a few gameplay bits would have made that very clear. This review is just very misleading in every way.

And very unprofessional.

@Gelugon_baat Btw, regarding Rome dying and not wanting that to happen to GS - I'd say, if they piss on their community, never listen and just give us the cold shoulder, this place has a much higher chance of dying than Rome. ;>

@Gelugon_baat This is not about replacing or getting it removed (tho that would definitely be a plus) but rather about VOICING OUR OPINIONS on this game. Showing people that we disagree and on what points exactly. So that others, who might not hate J-RPGs in general, might see that this game actually is pretty much a good game FOR FANS OF THE GENRE.

Generally, this review tells us, that Meruru is WORSE than Rorona, while Meruru has made drastic changes in gameplay, the graphics are way better and there is WAY LESS PRESSURE and it's easier to find one of the other endings, besides the normal ones.

Nothing of this gets mentioned in the review and therefore people will think this game sucks.

Wow. I disagree with about everything in this review. The game is fun, the characters are very enjoyable, gameplay has enough variations to never get boring, some of the boss battles are really challenging and got me rather excited. I rather like Meruru as the heroine, in fact she's my favourite of the whole Arland series. She's not doing things on a whim or because she's bored, she does it, because it's what she wants. Because it's the thing she found most appealing to her after trying out various things before that. Alchemy is her big dream and she's willing to stand up against her father, the king, to pursue it. Who'd do that if they were "just bored"? And of course she is bored of being a princess, because, seriously, who wouldn't be?

I also never really felt pressured by the yearly goals, you'd have to be really slow or really bad at this game, to not make it to the population goals in time, by the end of year 2 I already had the required 30.000 and was able to do whatever I want at my own pace and could try out all kinds of things..

I also wonder what kind of campaign the reviewer is talking about, as there is no campaign. There's a story. This is an RPG, not an RTS game. And while it can be refreshing to hear the thoughts of someone who usually favours other genres and can give some insight from a fresh perspective, but if one has such a negative point of view on J-RPGs there is nothing fun and refreshing about a review.

I don't think it's wise, Gamespot, to let anyone review any game.. it's a pity such a great game (and gameplay-wise it's the most polished of the series, far superior to Rorona, which at least got a decent 6) gets reviewed by someone who clearly can't appreciate these kind of games (colourful, cute, turn-based).

Also, Meruru is 15 at the start of the game, 20 by the end. I, as a female (26), never thought that she was too young to wear something with a somewhat revealing décolleté - I've seen much worse, especially in games developed in the US. Meruru is simply wearing cute clothes and most girls that age wear even more revealing things nowadays.

This just shows once again why I barely read any of the reviews over here.
