@DVONvX Smart phones killed wrist watches, GPS devices, GPS trackers, compasses, cameras, Golf GPS's, pagers and ummmm some things I'm forgetting.
Remember the good 'ol Palm Pilot with a stylus.... Yeah, get rid of multi-use smart phones and let us buy a ton more standalone devices.
Yeah, making good use of the horsepower of your device makes no sense at all. What we need are more stand alone devices. More Roku's. Apple TV's. More Setup boxes.... Yep, good thinking.
@popegtr Microsoft has a better launch lineup than Sony and will have plenty of games. I don't get why Sony fanboys seem to think these extra features keeps COD or Battlefield of Project Spark or TitanFall etc from working????
You do know the Xbox One will have just as many games as the PS4 right....? It will just have extra features. Complain about the price. That argument makes more sense. The Xbox One will play games.
@emvv I haven't seen you in a dress...., but it might be that sitting at home on a Friday night watching movies with some Ice Cream Bons Bons and a bag of potato chips might be your best option. Just sayin'... ;-)
@silversix_If the PS4 sells 100 million units this generation and only 1.4 million at launch then the super Fanboys, who post here only account for 1.4% of the total market. These forums comments do not represent the average console buyer standing in line at Best Buy.
Non Fanboys don't post here.... Only the most hardcore post here. All 3 million of us... If you think these forums represent all the users of the PS4 or Xbox One you're dreaming.
Marketers and accountants care about women, mothers and wives.... If the Xbox One is more appealing to the women then the Xbox One will make it easier for husbands, boy friends, fathers with kids etc to justify the purchase. Look honey, we can make Skype calls, watch Movies/TV, it's a Universal remote etc.
It's very obvious Microsoft thinks they'll have the same amount of games as the PS4. They want to tip the scales for the non-fanboys by appealing to other family members.
@toddx77 The point of the article is that women make up 40% of the Xbox "Live" audience. It didn't say 40% of the COD/Halo players on Live are women listening to sexist comments on COD/Halo on chat.
Plus, women tend to be smart enough to use the mute button when they do play.
Big difference.... A higher percentage of women use Live for Movies and TV content. That's the point of the article.
Newsflash.... 40% of Gamespot posters are not women.
They don't have time for comment section crap, because they are busy watching movies on their consoles, while their boyfriends and husbands participate in fanboy wars.
@evil13killer I have two Xbox 360's. One 360 is in my bedroom and the other is in the living room. My daughter uses the living room 360 and spends 99% of her time when in the living room watching Movies or TV apps on the 360. She does some Kinect Nike training and some Yoga DVD's and that's it. It's mostly Netflix, HBO GO, Amazon Prime videos or Xbox Video etc.
I just checked and the 360 now has 60 Video apps... 60... And when the 360 launched 7 years ago how many were there? About Zero... When Netflix launched it was OMG. Now, there are so many it's crazy.
Yes, women use consoles and yes they and guys too can spend a lot of time watching streaming content.
