Sorry, but I've heard the "consoles are dead" and "PC is dead" for years. It's never true.

I remember when free trials were a lot more common for a lot more games.

They were an ancient thing; known as demos, and were an excellent way of knowing whether a developer's work was worth your money.

Personally, the BFG is visually and audibly disappointing.

Though it probably won't happen, it would be hysterical if it outsold the reboot.

The Open Beta has a 36% rating on Steam.

Because it's anther pathetic PC port of a console-ized game, and feels less like Doom, and more like a bastard child of Unreal and Halo.

I remember when I could check out a map pack or a patch at 6 AM before school and work years ago on XBL.

Now it's all this "10 AM PST" BS.

Not that I'm at all interested in Gears 4, just pointing out that the "entirely optional and cosmetic" microtransaction PR is not the least bit reassuring anymore.
