@therightclique: Hey if you liked a shitty plot, dumb characters, Leia flying around like rocketeer, and Luke's entire lore being ruined then that's on you. However, that also puts you in the "casual fan" category. Die hard fans like myself hated this movie, critics loved it and casual fans loved it. Weird.

@wexorian: This is hands-down the worst Star Wars movie ever. I am a die hard Star Wars fan and I hated it. All of my friends hated it. Most, if not all of my co-workers hated it and the ones that liked it are just casual fans.

It completely disregarded the Star Wars lore and it was piss poor attempt at a Star Wars film. Thanks to this film, the new era saga is now is prequel territory.

@dhracox: I mostly agree with you, even though I really enjoyed TFA. I think in TLA, look should have raised his Xwing, landed on Crait and should have started cleaning house. I also love the idea of him taking on Rey as a Padawan.

@dhracox: While I understand your complaints, you honestly think the terrible jokes in TLJ were better? The jokes literally ruined the tone of the entire film. After every serious scene a joke was forced in at the end and it just didn't flow right. It wasn't really much of a plot either and the subplot was the worst subplot we have ever gotten in a Star Wars film. Overall, it felt more like a prequel entry than an entry that was part of the new saga. Characters from TFA were either disregarded, misused or destroyed in TLJ. This is why I don't understand when people say they hated TFA, but enjoyed TLJ. The TLJ also gave us the worst scene in a Star Wars film (we all know what scene I am talking about). Plus, I could write a full 10 page argumentative paper discussing all of the plot holes in the film and why TFA was superior. I have been a Star Wars fan since the late 80s and while the original trilogy is probably the best trilogy of all time and the prequel trilogy was probably the worst trilogy of all time, I'd say this new trilogy is mixed at best. TFA was not as good as any of the original trilogy movies, but it was much better than anything from the prequel trilogy and it was better than Rogue One. I can easily say that TLJ is on par with the prequel movies and it is no where near is good as its predecessor. Watch the film a couple of times, actually analyze it and you will find that it is just an OK movie and a terrible Star Wars movie.

@dhracox: Well, you are nuts for thinking that. I never understand why people say this. TFA literally did everything better than TLJ: it had a better story, the characters were better (they were used better), it had better sub-plots, it had better music, the tone was better, the jokes were better, they relied more on practical effects as opposed the the TLJ's heavy reliance on CGI (similar to the prequels), and it didn't have as many plot holes. Everything was better in TFA and to say other wise is just absurd.

What about all of the shitty scenes from TLJ?

Right now, I am not enthusiastic about Episode 9 at all. I think JJ set up a great foundation in Force Awakens, love it or hate it, it was a critically acclaimed movie (much like the Last Jedi), but unlike The Last Jedi, fans didn't hate The Force Awakens. On Rotten Tomatoes out of over 220k user reviews, 88% of people liked it giving it an average score of 4.3 out 5. On the other hand, we have The Last Jedi and on Rotten Tomatoes out of over 100k user reviews, only 56% of people liked it which is worse than ALL of the prequel films. While I was entertained, I didn't think it was a great Star Wars film and I have a similar criticism that I had with the prequels- it didn't entirely feel like Star Wars. Futhermore, it was a film of missed opportunities and characters like Luke, Finn, Captain Phasma, and Snoke were completely wasted.

It was like Rian Johnson only read the cliff notes on the Force Awakens and didn't even watch the film because he destroyed most of the lore and subplots that JJ had setup. Now JJ has the impossible task of killing off Leia (either off screen or on screen), and not having a true villain (unless Snoke isn't dead). I think we need to get Johnson away from the new trilogy because the Last Jedi was an absolute mess. Disney when you make these movies, it is mandatory that you have at least 3 Star Wars super fans that are hired on as consultants because Johnson knew absolutely nothing about Star Wars and it shows in his lackluster film. Out of any Star Wars film, it had the worst pacing, the worst tone and half way through the movie I was like this bad. Not a great year for Star Wars...

@l8wrtr: Talk about a hyperbole.... So all the Star Wars games EA has published since acquiring the Star Wars license have been utter shit huh? Well, this isn't even remotely true. The Old Republic was a great game and it did extremely well with critics. Star Wars Battlefront II is reminiscent of the Star Wars Battlefront launch, but in terms of Battlefront II, I think overall it is a much better game the the original. The original was good, but it too had an awkward progression system (arguably worse than BFII) and it had some serious balancing issues. Seriously the progression system and star card issues are absolutely minuscule yet people just need to bitch. I think part of the outrage has to do with people hating on EA just for the sake of it. In its current state, the game is a very good Star Wars game. In 6 months down the road, it could possibly be one of the best Star Wars games ever.

@wretch1d: I would like to think that EA would like to avoid another shitstorm. I am not saying that microtransactions aren't coming back entirely, but I feel like the formerly dubbed "pay to win" microtransaction system will not be coming back. Forbes, Rolling Stone and some other media outlets have been speculating that the microtransactions will NEVER come back. It is also very likely that EA might get rid of loot boxes altogether.

@zackattack12: Microtransactions will not be coming back, at least not how they were implemented previously. The negative press that this game has gotten is astronomical and unless EA wants to start another firestorm with a bunch of entitled whiny gamers, they will most likely not be implemented them again (at least not for progression items).
