Ghz is only relevant when referencing models in the same series. A X4 955 at 3.2 Ghz is not equal to an i5 3570k at 3.2 Ghz. Why people continue to reference GHz in this context without any explanation baffles me.

Why would anyone want to disable V-sync? for the juice? In that case it's understandable..f22rf

Mouse lag mainly, as a rule I never enable V-sync, even on old games where I get over 300 fps.

You need to add it to skyrim.ini not skyrimprefs.ini

Impressive for a 560 Ti. The VRAM would probably come in handy at those power levels.

Modders have the luxury of programming for computers that are more powerful then the ones the game was orignally designed for. See the Oblivion mods, they require 1GB of VRAM, that kind of memory was unheard of at the time Oblivion came out, at that time the GPUs that were out only had a maximum of 512MB of VRAM.

Now 1GB, even 2GB is pretty much standard. Only one card has 3GB of VRAM per GPU.

Modders also have unlimited time to release their mods. Game developers can only spend so much time on making good graphics before they need to release the game.

PC gaming would be faster and more smoother if it was based on OpenGL, since DirectX is more sloppy and heavier to code for. Thats why console games look better than PC gamesWyteCollaCrim

If you want to play on ultra then yes. High settings will work just fine. To play on ultra get a better GPU, I suggest either a 6950 or a GTX 560 Ti.

Edit: Nvm you have crossfire, you can play on ultra.

It is really preference based and IMO a 21.5" monitor is much too small. There isn't really all that much more room then my 19" 1440x900. You really need to bump up the screen size when you go from another aspect ratio to 16:9. 23" is the minumim I would go if I was going to buy a 1080p monitor.

At this time intel just has so much better processors then AMD has.

However I will say the X4 955 overclocked is an amazing bargin and can max out any game I throw at it. For refrence a X4 955 at 4.0Ghz is about equal to a last gen i5 750 at stock clocks. For people who are on a budget and are willing to tinker they still can perform quite well.

Hyper threading only adds 10% in applications that take advantage of it. It is only really 4 cores that pretend to act like 8. So by the time that the i5 has run its course maybe the 10% would make the difference between 30 fps and 33 fps. It really isn't worth it.
