Windows installer errors can be a real pain in the ass. Check out http://consumer.installshield.com/kb.asp?id=Q111019 and follow the steps there and hopefully you'll be able to sort things out. Good luck.

It sounds like when you're clicking scan, the option for an incremental backup is selected. This is a lot quicker than doing a full back up as it just adds new files etc instead of everything from scratch. You'll need to create a full backup first (there should be an option for it somewhere).

Cheapest option would probably be a dvi splitter. You can pick them up on eBay for next to nothing.

I know what you're saying about most RPGs falling into one of two categories. If you wanted something a bit different you should try something like Jade Empire or Age of Pirates.

You should check out the Broken Sword line of games, maybe a wee bit dated now but still highly playable. If it's new you want, try Penumbra Overture.

I had more or less the same problem, I find a pretty thick piece opf cardboard works well. Not ideal, but it does the job.
