Well, the 8 power up item thingy isn't new. There was a similar item in Mario Kart 7, called lucky seven afair.

@rushiosan i never played WW, but i've read somewhere that they made some changes in the gameplay so some things are different now. I'm pretty sure they did mention that triforce quest too.

Too bad that the article says nothing about the reasoning behind Phils decision. Nintendo has made it really hard for indie devs to put games on nintendo platforms. For instance, not so long ago, devs wouldn't get a penny until their game has reached a certain threshold. Plus the developer had to have an office (that's why the dev of Retro City Rampage had to get an office ONLY to make the game acceptable by nintendo, which is beyond crazy).
My point is... there is also this part where nintendo isn't dev friendly. But then again they are changing their rules... slowly...

too bad... it was the only final fantasy game i was looking forward to.
