Yeah it was totally gullible to see game files for Hi-Fi rush for other platforms, and then see it get rated for Switch and Playstation, all for it to be confirmed today.

@sealionact: I think they are going to leave traditional consoles in favor of something different that makes sense with a multplatform approach. The announcement didn't rule out the next console being something like a handheld. It would make sense for them to grab the market that the Steam Deck is poised to take.

It's not part of the first four. We all know what's coming. The podcast was poorly thought out; essentially they lost control of their marketing narrative to say something that could have been a tweet two weeks ago.

They are playing a long game here. In response to a question about Starfield and Indiana Jones, Spencer says "I don’t think we should as an industry ever rule out a game going to any other platform. We’re focused on these four games and learning from the experience." The plan is most likely to say that they learned from such a strong response, and then decide to "port" these two games over.

That is because a lot of the speculation came from internal leaks.

I missed that release last year - for some reason I was under the impression that it was done more in the style of the 2005 game, but I suppose it just didn't get the same marketing treatment as Helldivers 2.
Maybe I should condition my statement about how good it is; So far it is off to a great start, and along with the setting of the game, the hilarious things that can happen (airstrike your teammates for democracy), and the VA and design, it can turn into a masterpiece of an online game if they handle it well.
