DX11 actually adds and changes a LOT of things, a ton more memory usage and a lot of new controls for data moving back and forth through the Northbridge. I haven't had any problems with any Autodesk software on Vista, but I guess that depends on the versions. I haven't tried anything older than Max 8 or Maya 7 on Vista. I'm not about to go install my old version of 3DS Max 3.1 to check it out, though :P

dfk4eva -- I run Photoshop CS4, two instances of 3D Studio Max 2009 64 bit and ZBrush 3.5 split between two monitors or alternatively I play games like Crysis on absolute maximum settings at 1920x1200 on Vista Ultimate 64 and I have no performance troubles.. Maybe it's your machines resources? I find that for what I do, Vista is absolutely excellent with the resource management and data fetching and caching and it behaves exceptionally well with my hardware.

Why would I get thumbed down for saying that I like Vista?

darkchaostitan: Intel has had octa-core designs for a while now, just not commercial. Same with IBM, Toshiba, etc.

8GB DDR2, Kentsfield Q6600 Quad Core, 1.7TB of HDD, and two 8800GT in SLI... it was expensive but damn am I happy! :) You guys should be just fine though, its tough to get this game to look good on ANY machine but if you tweak around you can get it just right :)

I found the Galaxy was an eye-sore. It wasn't pleasing to look at in any way, and it was a real turnoff for me to enjoy... Sorry Nintendo :(

@ santiagochile: "The Mario Factory" is a widely known and widely accepted nickname for Nintendo that is many years old.

Halo 3's only graphical fault is it's lack of post-effects like stronger HDR and adaptive motion blur. Also, the human player models aren't that great, they're Halo 2.5 if anything. Everything else in the game is incredible, though.
