3ds not only does it play all the current ds games it has a virtual console , which has cheap games for people who are on a tight budget , its pretty versitile, a ps3 well with a wii u around the corner, you might as well just wait for sony to finally drop the darn price to an affordable price like 250 lol

Assuming you own neither a 360 nor a PC (which appears to be the case), your first gaming console this gen should be a PS3. Period, no question about it.
The vast majority of games come out on those three systems.

My only "this gen" console is the Wii, and there's not a lot of games I play very often. By the way, I've played Xbox 360 (a lot, surprisingly), and I think PS3 has a better library, so that's why it's PS# vs. 3DS, not 360 vs. 3DS. But yes, I am leaning towards PS3, and getting 3DS at either a price drop or when there are better games do you have mario kart mario galaxy or super smash bros brawl?
