@David_Boreanaz @master_zidane @danyboy278 @Hamza141 Played the closed beta for it months ago. Might give it another go now that there wont be anymore resets. Kinda liked it more than Planetside 2. My kind of game, I guess.
@PacoTaco That's the most pointless stat you could bring up, but I agree (not with the per capita thing but with the basic premise). This does have about as much an economic impact as you switching to Coke Zero.
The reason being: Although we have a massive gamer population, nearly 90% of them pirate games. While game developers and publishers are partially to blame for this (almost zero availability of original games prior to 2007), the majority market is so used to getting their games for $1 that they can't fathom paying $50 or $60 for a game, and since even that $1 doesn't go to the devs/publishers --- we might as well burn the said game in protest, all to no effect.
Affordability does not factor into this, trust me. They're all* capable of paying $60 for a game.
@danyboy278 @master_zidane @Hamza141 It's hardly going to make an impact. Where did the youtube ban get us? Nowhere. These are just attempts to reinforce local businesses. Youtube was replacing TV channels. People were watching dramas more on Youtube rather than TV. If this really isn't the case, the Youtube ban should have been lifted ages ago.
More and more people are going legit. This so called (pirate) association (first time I've heard of these guys, seriously --- they do have a funky name though) had to act.
