[QUOTE="Runningflame570"][QUOTE="Ultimas_Blade"] Yeah, so, how come EU PS3s aren't like $573USD???? It cost like $850USD in UK! WTF is up with that Sony?

Tax rates and more expensive localization.

Plus that people in the UK spend ridiculous amounts of money on most things so Sony can increase the price there without very much hassle.

I am a soldier in Greece and I get payed 8.6 euros per month (or ~$10 per month for the US). Yes that is very low, but I eat in the camp, I sleep in the camp etc etc. Plus I have to do it so...
As a comparison, if I was a store salesman I would get payed 600 euros ($787) per month for fulltime work.

[QUOTE="ZonGamer"]

I live in Greece, i went out to buy a PS3 and guess what, 660 Europa, no game, no HD cable included !!!!

http://www.plaisio.gr/product.aspx?catalog=2&category=832&product=931047

Is that a mistake or what ? I think 360 is 360 with a HD cable and a memory card

I think www.play.com has a better deal than that, but i wonder if they can send over to Greece things other than games

Sony Playstation 3 PS3 Console With 60GB HDD & 3 Games (MotorStorm / Genji / Resistance: Fall of Man) FREE HDMI cable Click (Blu-Ray)

EUR 813.99 Delivered

Rip870

How can the consol has come out in greece when it haven't come out in the rest of Europa. No offence but Greece isn't exactly the richest country in Europa. Whats the point to relese a consol in your country when only 2 people can afford it.

We may not be the richest, but a very large part of the population spends ridiculous amounts of money on cell phones, gadgets, clothes etc.

The only demos I have been wowed by were Tony Hawk's Pro Skater 2, Silent Hill 4: The Room, Call of Duty and The Chronicles of Riddick: Escape From Butcher Bay.

I get bored watching videos of Motorstorm.

Edit: How could I have forgotten Indigo Prophecy. That one wowed me to new levels of wow. I still have to get that freaking game... I cannot find it anywhere  I really want to find a copy of the Director's Cut. AO rating and all.
foxhound_fox
No...just rent Indigo Prophecy ot don't pay more than $15 for the full game. It starts out very good but is extremely bad during the last 50% of the game.

[QUOTE="-Spock-"][QUOTE="-DarthVader-"][QUOTE="-Spock-"]

[QUOTE="-DarthVader-"][QUOTE="xxThyLordxx"][QUOTE="-DarthVader-"]Is a 32.00 dollar movie really worth the 600 price tag...

-DarthVader-

your logic baffles me. so people on SW actually have logic like this? damn.

My logic baffles you?

I hardly find a movie incentive to by a 600 dollar gaming console.

"Sony's VP of brand and consumer marketing, Darren Carter, calls Casino Royale a "phenomenal incentive" for gamers to join the PS3's onlineservice"

This is not an incentive to buy a $600 PS3, this is an incentive to join their online service. They did the same thing with the free Spiderman 2 UMD on the PSP site. Learn to read.

So a movie is incentive to join a half baked online service?

Hardly.

It's free and takes barely five minutes to sign up. Even if you never use the site, it's worth it for a "$32 Blu-Ray movie." I would call that an incentive.

I'd have to buy a 600 dollar console to even get the free movie, that would only cost 20 bucks on DVD..

cow theres no way around it the incentive isn't very good.

My god, some people have a strange way of thinking...
This incentive is targeted at someone who has a PS3 so as to make him sign up for PSN, and at the same time targeted at early adopters of HD technology (that already have HDTVs and are also prone to buy PS3 because of the BlueRay functionality). The second market segment will sure see more value in buying PS3 if they get a free movie. It doesn't try to justify the full cost of the console as you stupidly assume.
Free BlueRay disc = bad?...I don't get the logic...

Newsflash: Sony will give all PS3 users 5 games for free, $100 of downloadable content and 3 years of warranty
This could equal (for desparate Sony bashers) to: 1) games that won't sell so they had to give them away, 2) $100 that buy nothing that is good, and 3) the 3 year warranty means that ps3 can easily brake down...
Congrats on trying to make good news appear as bad...

This site is bogus, It gave Battlestations Midway a 5, It scored a 7.9 at gamespot and a 8.5 over ign, They gave hotel dusk a 5 or a 6 and its a AA title as well, It has to be pretty bad and broken to score that score and i highly doubt it, I call this site bogus, I expect 7.2-8.2 from gamespot.

No, Edge is very respectable magazine and editors tend to write very opiniated reviews. A 5 means that the game is good, while a 9 means that it is almost perfect.

IM in big trouble I bought a japanes ps3 and the problem is that I live in eruope! IT wont play any of my ps2 games ,it wont play any of my dvdS, so I dont care about blueray disks because I bought it for gamming not to watch dvd! but tell me plz that I didnt drop my money from the window ,the important thing is to play ps3 games ,I dont care about ps2 games also!!! elamira
If I remeber correctly, BDs region 2 (the usual european one for DVDs) is the same with Japan. So you will have no problem playing a Blue Ray movie. Games are region free, but you may have a problem for online games, since many games will use region specific servers.
