Amazing game! You're gonna love the Gun Lance if you just like poking the monsters until they die :)

I would say Pokemon Crystal, quite the old game indeed but it was the first pokemon to introduce the moving pokemons, also where you can get 16 badges which was just the greatest thing ever during my childhood. I would also say LOZ Ocarina of Time, ahh the nostalgia :)

Bombardier is a skill that you get through the gear you make, I think the Uragaan outfit has this skill. Ghillie Mantle is the very first Item Equipment that you get in the game, it conceals you from monsters for a short period of time. There are others that have different abilities, but I feel like Ghillie Mantle is the best. Mega Bombs are items too lol

Honestly, I just use the Wiki because the game itself is very good at explaining a lot of the things you need to do. There is a section in the lower level to the right of the quest board where you can look up information on monsters you have battled (the name is escaping me at the moment). The more you fight the monster the more it reveals the weakness', breakable parts, location, etc. Also if you're looking for more advanced strats the wiki has some too.

This right here is a great strategy that I'm going to wind up using for myself lol

I haven't tried any of the new weapons features other than the ones I mentioned, definitely going to give the longsword a shot after reading this.

So who here plays MHW? I only recently started playing the series with MH4 on the 3ds, and I loved it so much I was so happy when they released this game as a PSN exclusive. Now I believe it is available across all consoles, and they've even crossed with FF14! The graphics are amazing, and the game play is a lot of fun as well, very smooth. I really want to discuss how people approach this game.

What kind of weapons do you use?

I personally prefer the Great Sword, Gunlance, and believe it or not the Bow is really good in MHW.

Are you a solo hunter, or do you have a squad?

I've been solo hunting everything so far in this game, but I've had a few randoms help me out.

Are you a trapmaster or do you prefer just wailing on the monster until it dies?

I've been capturing everything (minus elder dragons, obviously) because you get way more loot, especially when you use a voucher.

What kind of build do you use? Does it vary by monster?

I try to keep a generic build so I can just fight anything I want, unless I have to farm a certain monster. I'm running the full Bazelguese set, with the Bazelguese gunlance. It's great because it causes blastblight, and if you keep hitting you get a chance to cause an explosion which does massive damage.
