They wanted Final Fantasy XIII as hardcore as Final Fantasy VII they wanted a good complication and to shower the crowd with a good storyline for this generation. They made a complication for FFVII and it was the first Final Fantasy on the PS hitting so hard so they made a complication. Same for FFX and now for this one And also this game could turn out to be a FF7 or FF12. No one really knows yet, and if this game just doesn't make the good ratings like it was hyped to be that could make them wanna remake FF7 even more. I'm sure the game will sell just because it's a FF games and one hasn't been out in what 4 years? But I really hope it will be good!

Square Enix always have their reasoning's and etc Sorry for such a old bump before I speak. Just to let you know they are already done making all of them besides FF14, which they have already started on. And the original 2 guyings that working on another projects are only working on 1 game that at least we know about which there both almost done if not already done. FF7 being remade in the future is actually pretty obvious it will happen. It could be 1 year to 4 years before we see it. In the future games will become like movies, nothing but remakes and sequels, a some point thy won't have any original ideas left and just start making them. I could be wrong about this but Square-Enix is a company, there goal is to make money, and they know for a fact if they remade FF7 with some new features/areas they will make tons of money from it. And for the guy that said "Why would Square bother with a remake of a PSone game. Sure it's a classic." that's the reason why it will be remade sometime in life. And I'd say there's 98% of the people want a remake and would buy if they did and 2% that don't want a remake but will still buy it. -_-
