@Gravity_Slave The game is only extended depending on the community for the game in question, or will only stay active as long as the servers are on. If the devs shut down the servers, MP people are fucked over, leaving them with a shitty paper-weight and a shitty campaign..
@biggest_loser Except servers can shut down whenever that happens, or most of the player community gets bored with the game. I've seen this shit happen with the XBox Splinter Cell games when I bought them for $9.99 in 2006, seeing little more than 8 players available on a nightly basis. Ghost Recon: Advanced Warfighter 2 was completely dead in 2010. Last time I checked, Halo 2, a game released in 2004, had the servers shut down in 2010.
@Gravity_Slave Except most games by TODAY'S STANDARDS have shitty campaigns BECAUSE of the extra focus on Multiplayer. Pretty sure Mass Effect 3's ending wouldn't be shit-tastic if BioWare wasn't too busy whoring out their novels and comic books, not to mention spending too much of their fucking time developing multiplayer.
Edit: Oh, I forgot. Does anyone remember the F.E.A.R. franchise? Yeah, the first two games had good campaigns just because MP was an afterthought. F.E.A.R. 3 sucked fucking balls because the geniuses at Day One Studios decided to make it the other way around.
@UrbanMessiah @sandspectre @Psycold @adupuis Yup, like Resident Evil since RE5. RE6 deserved the negative reviews it got because the co-op was badly hamfisted to make the game remotely enjoyable. RE5 wasn't any better in that regard as well.
@GameBeaten @AskanTale This. Halo 2 only lasted for 8 years until Microsoft canned the support for the original XBoxes. For anyone claiming "unlimited replay value" for online gaming, you're fucking deluded.
