@0perki Oh come now, that's not fair. GameSpot editors have their own individual opinions and operate on their own terms. Brendan makes a lot of great (and different!) points in his piece. Plus, he mentions The Beatles. Win.

@hawsman3 Actually, the video interview with Jay Wilson that is on the site was done by me. I also interviewed Max S for this piece. All the quotes in this article are from interviews that I have done. As for the title, it is simply a question, one that I think is very clearly answered in the article.

Hello everyone. Thank you for your comments. I wanted to clear up something, since a lot of you have pointed this out. When I said that a work of art cannot be altered or deleted because doing so "would fracture the relationship between an artist and the audience, and it would render the original work meaningless" what I meant was in the context of the piece -- that changing a work AS A RESULT of audience demand/reaction would render it meaningless. I guess that wasn't really clear and I have edited the original statement. Of course an artist can change his or her own work at all, and of course DLC is a good example of that. Apologies if that meaning didn't come across in my original piece.

Hi everyone. My apologies for the following statement: "While it's true that we don't get to pick our gender, religion, or sexual preference in the real world [...]" This was an error on my part. I have amended the original statement in the article, and posted a correction at the bottom. Thank you.

@alekishere and @Syph26: After re-reading this, you guys are right about one thing: the terms "misogynist" and "chauvinist" didn't apply here. Have corrected this now.
