I have one fan blowing out in the back. There is a fan port on the top of the case that I figure i can use to blow air in, but it's really close to the MB so not sure if there would even be space.

I never installed EVGA precision but I'm going to load it now and check into the fan profiles.

I have an i5 at 3.3 ghz, not overclocked with a gtx 560ti at whatever the stock settings are. One HDD.

600 watt corsair bottom mounted PS and a mid tower case with one 120mm fan.

I have been playing Crysis 2 and things seem to get a little warm so I took the side off the case just to be safe. Just not sure what is too hot and what's normal. My bios says the cpu is about 48 degrees at idle which seems warm but I have no idea.

Thanks for the tips. I have the PSU out right now so I can return it today. The wires were so short I had to leave it and the drives outside the case to get it running..lol.

The driver on the EVGA site is from a month ago, so mine is probably way out of date. Not sure on the refresh rate. My monitor is 120hz so I may have to try some different settings if the driver doesn't do it.

I just built up a new PC, it's mainly for music but I figured if I got a decent video card i could play games on it. It's an i5 with a EVGA GTX560 TI video card. I forget the exact MB but it's an MSI and about $150 so middle of the road I guess.

The computer runs great for computing but I downloaded the Crysis demo and it judders so bad when moving the mouse. I did the auto detect and it put all the settings on high. But even on medium it's the same thing without any less judder. The graphics look good when standing still and framerate seems good, but as soon as you move the mouse, it's like it's being displayed on a waving flag or something.

Is there a simple fix for something like this or an obvious cause? I can't imagine it should look that bad. I know it's not a top of the line PC, but that stupid video card was more than an entire xbox and it looks terrible compared to that, at least when you move the mouse.

Thanks for the info, so the CPU doesn't really matter when choosing a PSU, it's all about the video card(s)

Will the 560ti only do it if it's overclocked or will the stock one do it? I'm looking at this one below, it's the TI but not sure if it's overclocked or if that's something you do on your own.

The reason I ask is because I have a certain windows program I need to run at 120hz.

First off, what wattage PSU do I need for an i7 950 and GTX560 video card with one hard drive.

Also, will that video card do 1920 x 1080 @120hz? I remember old video cards spec sheets use to show what max resolution and refresh rates they could do, but not anymore. They just show the max res so I'm not sure.

Thanks.

Thanks for the tips, some good information here to get me started.

I wish I could just buy a complete unit but I looked at Alienware and they are so overpriced, I can't buy it simply out of principle. When you choose an upgrade, they charge you full price for the component, not an upgrade price. Everyone says you get what you pay for, but the components are all off the shelf stuff, so not sure where the extra money goes.

I'm mostly a console gamer but looking to build up a gaming PC. Most of the parts I can compare the specs pretty easily except for how loud the case fans and power supply is. I really don't like a computer that hums all the time. I know some people don't mind it but it bothers me for some reason.

So are there any cases or power supplies known for how quite they are or have you bought one that turned out to be super quite?

Thanks for help!

I have found a few 120hz monitors but none are LED. I figure there has to be at least one out there but I can't find it.

Anybody know of any?

Thanks!

Thanks!

So a 120hz TV will display at 120hz no matter what, the only difference is the type of tweener frames based on the settings?
