Guild Wars 2's trading post didn't work for weeks, leaving players to vendor or delete their items....unless they forked out some cash to buy bag/bank slots. That isn't exactly a perfect launch.

Are they still not going to implement an idle auto--afk? Instead they just limit logins?

That's the point of the sub; it adds dungeons, raids, abilities, zones etc. ESO also covers all of Tamriel and is much larger than single-player Skyrim.

The game will have patches that add hours of content; Zenimax said the Dark Brotherhood alone will add 15+ hours. Most non-p2p games' patches add mostly temporary fluff content.
