@linusa: actually, i was referring to the overall trend that seems to be prevalent in all of the genera not one specific show on one specific network. you, yourself pointing out the error in Flash's earth of origin could be construed as a sign of what i'm discussing.
does anyone else believe that the season will follow this story line?
Pat (STRIPES) is killed while protecting his family and the team from Eclipso in the first episode,
Stargirl goes mental, shaves her head and storms off after telling everyone off.
Stargirl and Eclipso meet and after a brief fight we discover that despite the deep ominous voice and extremely male body type, Eclipso is actually a teen girl who in no way fits the proportions of the body that we see.
Despite this, Stargirl and Eclipso become involved or serious 'gal pals' and the pair run around destroying things.
Meanwhile, old Flash arrives and after three episodes of sitting and talking, decides that he'll go back in time and save STRIPES.
After five episodes full of additional sitting around and talking, off he goes!
Season finale: Flash returns with STRIPES and states that he can't do that again as it's too much for him, then STRIPES is immediately killed by Stargirl who has gone dark side and says that she needs no men in her life and she disappears with gender ambiguous Eclipso.
@linusa: you're not saying that writers and directors of super hero shows and movies featuring established characters actually know the subject matter are you? that's crazy!
@jenovaschilld: Okay, i agree that old school Loki with the Boss Hogg steer horns on the helmet was pretty good, I still fall back to my original premise of "give the sneaky god of mischief and agent of chaos Loki a device that will take him anywhere and anytime in history," (ancient or contemporary) you'd get something a lot more action and humor packed than "I never knew my mother" Loki.
This could have easily been a Loki meets Dr. Who or Quantum Leap time traveling tour de force. Instead, we get crying Loki, talking Loki, weak as herbal tea Loki and 'though my name's in the title, I'm second fiddle to everyone else' Loki. Of course, I fell asleep during 3/4 of each episode and didn't have the life force to re-watch, so I might have missed something.
