@haakonmiknas: Really, I think many people don't see why they should buy a Wii U. The Wii had excellent product placement and was just a fun, easy to play system for everyone. The Wii U didn't launch with a super easy fun for all game like Wii Sports. Nintendo Land was meant to be that game, but it didn't succeed.

- Nintendo has also admitted that it takes them longer to produce games for Wii U than for Wii, and has delayed a number of titles.

- The battery life of the Gamepad is bad and many don't want to be forced to use it, from what I've seen.

- Low internal storage. Who wants to buy a HDD for a console?

- The price is still high for a system that's only slightly more powerful than a PS3. It doesn't seem next-gen when compared to the PS4 and Xbox One.

- Lack of NEW games (exception of 3D World); Wind Waker HD is great, but is a remake.

Nintendo's gotta do a lot more if it wants the Wii U to be as good/better than the Wii was. Without the casual appeal that the Wii had, the Wii U is like a GameCube: Nintendo loyalists and kids will buy it for Nintendo titles, but that's about it.

Ok, I've been a Nintendo fan forever and loved the Wii from beginning until the end (Twilight Princess, Metroid Prime Trilogy, Skyward Sword, Xenoblade and Last Story supporter; need I say more?). I now have a huge backlog of excellent Wii titles and don't see a huge reason to get a Wii U. I mean, it won't even upscale SD games to HD. I know there's a bunch of AAA titles on the horizon, but not too much I want atm. Also, the Wii U gamepad battery life is a major concern.

I have tested the Wii U and it's cool, but feels like it's missing something and that it was a tad rushed. Nintendo seems to be struggling with the Wii U at the moment, and I feel like it will be redesigned in the near future (high capacity battery built-in, kinda like Wii Motion Plus).

With all that said, why get a Wii U now? What drew you to Wii U?

Battery life, battery life, battery life!

1) The controller battery should last at least 10 hours.

2) Make the controller thinner perhaps

[QUOTE="livinitup01"]

(plus no way to transfer save files) I'm now on the fence.

KBFloYd

you can transfer save files quite easily on a sd card...

the only saves you cant transfer or for games with online....in that case you have to do a full wii to wiiU system transfer

I was referring to virtual console save files. I heard that they won't work on the Wii U side, only on the Wii side of the Wii U (if that makes sense).

[QUOTE="WreckEm711"]I've still got a huge backlog of Wii games I have but haven't played, quite a few games I've beaten and want to go back to, and games I just love playing over and over... So I'm in no rush :PLos9090
I still have games from the SNES days that I'm trying to get back to!

I'm playing Star Fox 64 and Yoshi Story like there's no tomorrow. I'm in no rush to upgrade.

Am I the only one who's still enjoying the Wii too much to get a Wii U yet? Anyone else a bit irked when you heard about Wii U's loading times? After hearing about how the Wii and Wii U virtual console's won't talk (plus no way to transfer save files) I'm now on the fence. I want to get the Wii U later this year (when more games are out and after I actually finish my Wii games). Are you on the fence too? Do you have a Wii U? If so, how is it?

It wasn't going to be a Day 1 purchase for me no matter what Nintendo said. I'll do the typical 'wait at least a year from launch' and see what their lineup is like before buying. They didn't really shock or wow me other than with Pikmin, ZombiU and surprisingly the LEGO game.

We knew NSMB U was coming and I was wowed by Rayman and AC3 from yesterday's show. Now Wii U just needs even more hardcore titles. It has the graphical power now, so it's possible. So far hardcore game support is okay, but add some unique shooters to entice the hardcore market. Great job Ubisoft for supporting Wii U so much though.

How about promoting The World Ends With You from ds to Wiiu and make a sequel on WiiU. I can't think of a better candidate to use the controllers features to their fullest not the mention I've been wanting a sequel for so long.

This is just a placeholder price.

I don't think it's fair to comment on the specifications of the Wii U yet, since we've been hearing conflicting reports and really don't know anything about it. Personally, I think it'll launch at around $299.99.

I'd buy it for $299.99. That makes sense.
