Do the devs really need to spoil us on story details in order to explain to us the theme of the game's story. Is it really that hard to explain your story's theme to us in a way that doesn't reveal any spoilers?

Cannibalism as in Capcom destroying their own reputation by persisting with on-disc DLCs,gimmicky systems game-after-game. You can fool gamers once or twice. But not always. Seems like they've run out of luck in that department.

I pity poor BioWare here. They make a confusing but unconventional ending. Large part of their fanbase goes into rage and keeps having fits. They plan on changing the ending and the other part of the fanbase bashes them. I personally think the idea behind the ending was right but if they are planning to add something to it,they better explain it so that it covers all the potential leaps of faith, loopholes and confusing aspects of the current ending. I wouldn't want them to change the entire idea behind the ending.

I think Team Bondi's thought process of Cole was caught up between representing him as an ideal, upstanding citizen with high regard of law and maintaining it (a polar opposite to other Rockstar protagonists) but at the same time they thought "Hey this is a film noir and film noir heroes aren't generally goody-two shoes" They basically tried making Cole into a complex character with moral grey shades over his personality chart but it came across as inconsistent and often jarring at times. They tried making him into a proper film noir protagonist but ironically it's Jack Kelso who ends up feeling the most "film noir-esque protagonist" in the game. As for the article, no offense to Ms.Parker she's done what she wanted to but a lot of those traits stretch the definition of those terms to the breaking point. Cole was an inconsistent character with some questionable flaws but if those are the grounds that Dr.Hare deduces can diagnose ASPD, then it's no wonder he was a psychologist back in the 60s. Hmph.

It would be nice if some of these features also mentioned or cited examples from games that are a BIT older. I can see why many recent examples were shown as it would send message clearly to anyone--new or old to gaming. Yet some of us who've been gaming for a bit longer feel some of the older games could have served the purpose of "examples" better. I won't compare whether stories were better then or now, but surely storytelling in games was considerably powerful back then as well and many games utilized unique methods of storytelling like Planescape Torment that we haven't seen in many games after. Oh well still a finely written article.

DA2 isn't a bad game. But it certainly isn't the kind of games we've come to expect from BioWare. Plain and simple, DA2 is the first non-handheld "average" BioWare game IMO. And there were bound to be riots in their fan community when that happened. Add DRM issues into that and you've got a fire that has given BioWare devs more than a fair share of burns. It just tries delivering "something for everyone" but unfortunately BioWare hasn't heard that it's technically impossible to please everyone. Or in DA2's case they ended up NOT pleasing most of their fans. Make the combat design more varied.Try not to make enemies appear out of "thin" air in each and EVERY battle. It just kills any sort of tactical element the combat might have. For all the impressive decision-making the game exhibited, it really disappointed me by the end for its POOR ending. Recycled areas and big-time quest glitches are proof enough of rushed development. Next time take your time if you want to avoid the same situation.

The gaming announcements might have been dull this TGS but the fun and frolic part of TGS never gets old. :D

The greatest video game composer by a mile. I mean he was the one that popularized video game music in mainstream media. He's produced tons of memories through his music in the minds of those who've played his games. I can easily debate over which is his best work but I would eventually give it to FFVI,considering Chrono Trigger's OST also had many contributions from Yasunori Mitsuda. Long live Uematsu, and may he grace the videogames with his magical music whether it's FFs or Mistwalker's RPGs. :D
