What is the most difficult to emulate from real life to gaming? Trees? Hands?Ilived
The most difficult to emulate from real life to gaming, huh? I know exactly what the hardest, most difficult element that can't be emulated in computer games. Adaptive Role-Playing games.
I play Dungeons and Dragons with my friends every now and then, and there are tricks we can do there that just can't be done in a video game. Instead of fighting the big bad boss, we have a wizard summon a huge earth elemental right on top of him. Ever tried to stuff a portable hole into a bag of holding while being swallowed by a monstrous creature? Makes a big mess in the ethereal plane.
Some gamers can think up unique strategies, but in most games, you are set on rails in comparison. You have to infiltrate the enemy stronghold instead of finding an alternative strategy that would work in real life.
PS_John, do you know how a PC works, right? Consoles are exactly like PCs except you can't upgrade the parts for better performance.
Besides that, you show to be highly persistant in discussing something you know nothing about.
Also, how many police cruisers do you think are on the Blu-ray disc and the X360 disc? Do not forget that Liberty City, the pedestrians, the radio stations, the weapons, and missions all share the same space as do the cars. So if you use all 25 GB of space for cars, there are no weapons, no pedestrians, no radio stations, no missions, and no Liberty City.
[QUOTE="PS_John"]is this joke? :|Dude you call me unedicated but then you bring up "ram" when we are talking about consoles

Either way, report him enough times and he should go away for a while, and this thread would end.
Ok, John, I have a new one for you.
Lets say there are 120,000 cars on the Blu-Ray version and 60,000 cars on the X360 version(they use some good compression). Now if you were to destroy one car, that means there are only 119,999 cars left on the disc. So with the PS3 version, you have a lot more cars to destroy before you have to buy a new game from the store.
So if bluray is not needed then how come it can hold 100,000 more cars than dvd?
PS_John
Ok, I have indulged into the idea that you are uneducated in technology. But you also are posting to say that search results from a browser is proof.
Here is a thought. Maybe 100,000 more cars are NOT needed. And if you think that disc space on a READ ONLY media says how many cars are spawned in the game, look up Object Oriented Programming. Better yet, take this to the PC Hardware discussion board. They need a good laugh from a decent court jester.
Overall, you are a troll. So is whether you want to pay for online..therefore by your logic I can prove that he PS3 version is better..
kruesader
When it comes down to online service between PS3 and X360, I would choose to pay $50 for 13 months over playing russian roulette with who is the host. When you choose a cheaper service, you get what you paid for.
So, because a game disc can store 55K versus 150K different cars is what makes Blu-Ray better. If the disc actually stored that many cars, where is the room for Liberty City? Where is the room for the game? Also, are you sure the car data size for the X360 version and the file size for the PS3 version are the same sizes?
Are there even that many different models of cars that you would want in the game?
If you were implying that the disc size said how many cars populate the game, you are extremely wrong. The game disc only holds the construction data. The universe inside the computer that you see running only exists in RAM. For both consoles, there is only 512 MB of existence available. So it does not matter on the size of the game disc nor harddrive space.
For all we know, the only thing Blu-Ray gives is less compressed radio stations.
This is one reason why sony is starting in last place because look at them, with a price tag that high, I dont think MS or Nintendo would survive if there system was at the price tag of the ps3, but sony is still selling systems. I tip my hat to them for having the nutz to even have faith in there system even with the price it is now. Anyways sorry for the long reply but hopefully u all know what I meant.

Actually, Sony was not selling systems very well at first. Most of the people who bought the PS3 at launch were EBay resellers hoping for high demand for the system, but that did not go well. And Nintendo took a large risk with the Wii, and where did that take them?
Sony did not play for a risk. They used the same tactic they did with the PS2. They worked on developing hardware that they thought was years ahead of the PC market and used a new disc format with massive storage. No one thought it was possible to fill a 4.7 GB disc last generation much like filling a Blu-Ray disc this generation. What Sony underestimated was the price to produce games for the PS3.
Sony is selling PS3s not because of Sony. Sony is selling PS3s because of Microsoft.
Here is an idea. If you don't think you will like the game, then don't buy it. Just because the game was made does not mean you have to play it.
Do you think Microsoft, the Linux developers, Apple, IBM, Intel, AMD, Nvidia, ATI, and etc should fight to remove all the crap games from the PC? From the OS developer stand points, they do not deny any user application for their OS because in some way or another those applications promote the OS.
