The reboot was terrible. Most of us are too old to be watching something like the original TV show, but if you watch it you can understand how its enjoyable. Theres a small level of seriousness to critical moments, but mostly its campy cheesy fun. This reboot was too serious, tried too hard to make us care about a bland and recycled story played by actors that would be rejected by soap opera auditions, when all we cared about was "WHEN IS IT MORPHIN TIME?" This is exactly why Pacific Rim 1 was the greatest movie ever made and Pacifim Rim Uprising was a pile of diarrhea.
