@CiceroXIII: The main thing about casual gamers is that they play games CASUALLY, as in not often. If you've ever met proper fans of The Sims gamesl, you'll know that they don't play The Sims as a diversion. Some of them have been playing it 3-5 hours daily for a good 4 or 5 years now. I still think that arguing about graphics in a game which isn't based around graphics at all is a little bit weird, but, if you've ever been to the website and talked to the fans there, you would know that there are plenty of people who know perfectly well how to update their machines.
I'm very happy with the idea of a The Sims 3, IF they just make it a more improved version of The Sims 2 (and it's expansions, not a watered down version), but NOT a SimCity Societies or MySims type of game. If they did that, I swear I would be compelled to throw some variety of explosive at the EA building!
Is it physcially impossible for CEOs and marketers of corporations to give straight answers?! Saying "The holidays," sounds like another way they can delay a game at the last minute while still being technically 'correct'.
Hmm...Most of the EPs sound good, but this one DOES seem to have a lot of stuff in it. Hopefully whoever it is that's managing the business end of The Sims gets fired or something so they don't try to remove almost ALL of the EP content for The Sims 3 like they did last time...stingy economists...
