@omotih: How? You pay money for additional content. Expansion Packs, Micro-Transactions, and DLC all do this. Funny how "Micro-transctions" get a negative light but when people buy "DLC" that are fancy costumes for your avatar, or buy an "Expansion pack" that adds a few new features it isn't? A tad bit hypocritical to call it opposite.

Seems you, too missed the purpose of my comment on this post, btw. My comment was regarding to this article about a game that went Free-to Play earlier this year by this website doing a give-a-away for a DEMO of a game.

I'm perfectly fine with my other MMORPGS btw; both F2P and Subscription. Three of 'em is enough. I just thought it was a camp-out click-bate to do a Giveaway for a f'ing DEMO; can't even manage to do a give-a-away of a couple of copies of the game. Too expensive for them I guess; I suppose Bethesda is poor or something. All that Pip-boy Edition money must be gone...
...either that or Gamespot has gotten some keys for themselves and no-one wants them.

@nuk3meister: The term "Free to Play" has changed dramatically over the past few years. And really, considering you still have to buy DLC packs to access areas, it technically still IS F2P even despite modern definitions of F2P. Microtransactions define F2P in standard; what does ESO have to advance into new zones? "Expansion Packs" which is pretty much the same as Micro-transactions to me. (And why EA still hasn't seen my money for Sims4; screw you and your packs).

Or you can go to other games that you download for Free, play for free; have hundreds of hours of enjoyment; without having to sign yourself up for spam for a chance to win a key for a DEMO.

...Just like the other guy, you missed the point of my comment. They're not giving a way THE GAME; they're giving you a chance to win a DEMO of the game.

@TeknoBug: Ironic that Destiny is rated higher by everyone; I don't care for Destiny myself, but there is irony in your statement.

My statement should have said "subscription-free" since the term "Free to Play" has changed dramatically over the past few years.. Regardless; there are still a lot better F2P games than ESO that doesn't require you to sign up for tons of spam-mail for a CHANCE to win a DEMO of the game.

...You kinda missed the point of my comment. They're not giving away THE GAME; they're giving you a DEMO of the game.

;/ Free weekend to a F2P game... no thanks. No offense, but if I wanted to play a F2P game for free for a weekend, there are loads of FREE MMORPGS that are F2P that I wouldn't have only about 3-4 hours to play.

Kinda weird that its a "give-a-way" for a chance to a limited opportunity instead of dealing with the masses in Steam's free-weekend program so its available to all at once...

Other than that, I'll pass on the junk-mail I'd receive from Gamespot and Bethesda just for a chance to play a DEMO of a game.

I'm getting more and more glad he sold his rights the more he talks about it... ;/ Dude you created something great many years ago but there was no need to change or contradict it with other info.

@mboettcher: Well the Hobbit movies were originally supposed to be directed by someone else; PJ was pulled in after a lot of stuff was already set and after other issues happened. The LOTR movies were his creative vision for the novels.

GL was there from the get-go on the Star Wars stuff; and lets not forget that his favorite character is Jar Jar. People fell in love with the original movies; he's an idiot to think they needed to change to "another vision" that he didn't present.

Yeah sure...make a movie showing a small tiny minority of jerks and making everyone one of us look like d-bags. As a female gamer, no one treats me any different.

I'm not going to watch it; that Law and Order episode was enough garbage.

This is the last I"ll acknowledge of this movie's existence.
