Should probably give a 56k warning...chicknfeet

A really redundant warning don't you think? 56k is so uncommon nowadays, you might as well give people a windows 98 warning to this website. Heck, you can't even load gamespot on a 56k connection and honestly expect to browse the forums with any speed.

It's a stange place these forums, like the whole world here is stuck in time or something.

3DS will not harm your vision. 3d wouldn't be legal if it could make you go blind (well, no faster than any other glowing screen will). Discomfort is temperary and is something you can get used to. Plenty of reasons to be worried about 3ds, your mortal well being is not one of them.

Because guns need to be different, and often times that requires us to take borderline cartoony measures with stereotypes (can inanimate objects have stereotypes? Not too sure about how to throw that word around...). Real life combat is boring. Ok not boring but... unvarried. Game developers just need to add some variety.

Everything in the news paper needs to go there because someone out there needs it. I often am very concerned about a company's well being. I was following midway up through it's financial troubles up til it stopped being a company. It gave me insite as to why the last games they ever made turned out so rushed and cashin-y.

I think a big factor is cinematography-- how they do the intro itself. Camera angles, sound, animation, etc.

I like different feelings from different game intros. For games that are the first in the series, I like the intro to set the tone for the game and introduce things to me. For sequels, I like it when the intro floods me with excitement that I'm continuing an awesome story.

A statement I can agree with... for a movie. Maybe it's just me, but if the intro isn't giving you control. If you seperate the game and the story, it feels like they will never go together. Everything that has ever wowed me with it's intro has wowed me from the moment I gained control of the character.

Two words. Cinematic gameplay. It should simotaniously set up characters, setting, plot, but it should NOT be unplayable. Final Fantasy 6 is a great example, Mass Effect 2, Half Life 2. Lets grab a less serious game. Earthbound too has a good intro. You should be brought through the tutorial of the game and not even realize it is a tutorial.

That is (my opinion of) what makes a good intro.

Half-Life 2 Episode 2. I'm still excited and can't wait play Episode 3... I just can't wait... arg :_; gaaaaaaaaaaaabe. Where is it, you said we'd have it.

Maybe if you have a very cold relationship, or if your relationship is built on how well you 2 can hold a convorsation. Otherwise it's a pretty freakin awkward moment. Is it even within gamespot rules to disucss this? Been away for so long, come back, first thing I see is this.

Old is much better. It was quality humor. Now they took the new Simpsons approach and dumbed it down.
