What i am surprised is that they debuting it so early...but then again the orginal was unveiled in may of 2000 a good 18 months.

no.....halo 3 made was the last mgs game it's lifetime....in a week.

The game will be good but wit the userbase of teh ps3 right now and past sales history, i seriously doubt it.

But ur basically stating that teh 360 train is slowing down when it made twice as mucha s it did the same tiem last year with no competition. Yes. It had halo 3 but halo 3 was only out the lat 10 days of the month.....please explain the other 21 days?

There are a number of factors that could cause this senario. As already mentioned Halo 3 had only been out for a grandtotal of 5 days in September. Also November is the traditional start of the Holiday shopping season, meaning many of the purchases that are going to be created by Halo 3 won't happen until November-January. Few parents are going to buy their children a 360 3 months before the holidays, and many people buying a 360 for themselves will likely wait until holiday sales to get a better deal.

Also we have to deal with the saturation point, the 360 (premium)price has only come down $50 since its launch, chances are MS is getting close to market saturation at their current pricepoint. They'll likely be able to carry sales through the holiday season but we could easily see a price cut as early as March 08, if not sooner to combat the recent PS3 price cut and the introduction of the 40gig SKU. I wouldn't be suprised if MS were to drop the price of the 360 by $50 in mid-late November.

I seiously doubt it since they have the bundles comin out. They proably gonna advertising in a way like...yea sony has a 40 gb ps3 for 400 bucks, but we're giving u a system with backwards compatbility ( they're at like 80% now right?) adn two free games...

It's just sad...cuz u said it like they're failing...yet they knocked basically everyone here in the US this month. Which is good cuz the U.S. affects a good chunk of the sales. And it can only get better as the holiday season rolls along...we're not into blind fanboyism like u guys are.

yet somehow the 360 only managed to outsell it's November '06 figures by 16k.. I thought Halo3 was supposed to skyrocket the 360 to PS2s heights or something the way Lemmings were prattling on in this forum. What gives? You guys consistently made fun of people for saying things like "everyone who wants a 360 already got one for Gears", which was a ludicrous argument yet not too far from the truth.. a) dont get too happy it too a second price drop and yea 3 days, but remember when ya used thios arguement with HS? Where is HS now?

b) To Dan, hardware affect software which in turn affect the dev which also affect the company with the hardware. What if all of a sudden, the wii stop selling ( wont happen tho), nintendo would be in trouble, and it affects teh consumer ( u who brought the system will ahve to realize that it wont have games really soon), taht's whats happen to the xbox ( tho lemmings will never admit), so they're just as important as the reviews people keep relyin on from GS.

c) the halo effect is pretty much over.

d) why are people referring to vgchartz? Everytime I do I get chastize for it, yet someone uses it when the ps3 is winning and all of a sudden its ok. Fanboyism at it's finest people
